Based on the press release for the Versa 2, an spO2 sensor will become standard and be used primarily for the sleep score.
Does anyone know if this will also be used in fitness tracking? i.e. when working out, would O2 levels be measured and considered when calculating the overall fitness score?

Hello everyone!
As mentioned before, the red and infrared sensors on the back of your Fitbit device capture the data that you see on your estimated oxygen variation (EOV) graph. Although the sensors are components of a relative SpO2 sensor, the graph is not a relative SpO2 estimate.
Your EOV graph is located under sleep stages in the Fitbit app, or, if you’re a premium subscriber, it’s on the Restoration tab under your sleeping heart rate information. If you don’t see your EOV graph, note that:
-You must get sleep stages and wear one of the following Fitbit devices to get the EOV graph: Charge 3, Ionic, and devices in the Versa series.
-Certain customers began seeing the graph in December 2019. The feature will be available to all customers sometime in 2020.
We hope this answers some questions.

Hi @alexd01, welcome to the community.
The following is included in the Versa 2 press release and hints the use of the spO2 sensor. This is the only thing I've seen mentioned other than the sleep apnea stuff -

Does anyone know if the current Versa users will get the software update to allow for SP02 tracking and sleep scores?

The foot notes on the press page states the following regarding sleep score. I can confirm this as I get a sleep score in the new app dashboard using both my Ionic and Charge 3.
"Available in-app for all Fitbit users with heart rate-enabled devices. Coming soon to view score on-wrist on Fitbit Ionic and Fitbit Versa family of smartwatches."
There is no mention of what devices the Estimated Oxygen Variation Graphs will be available on though (apart from Versa 2).

Good luck with this. We've been waiting years for them to activate the advertised spO2 monitor on the Versa 1. These guys love over promising and under delivering.

I just found the same issue where my sons versa2 has it but mine does not. I called support and they informed me that it has only been released to approximately 10% of their users (they randomly choose who). The rest of us who want it now have to wait until we are deemed worthy I guess.

Not sure how they activate for few and not all ..i bought this versa2 as i have some breathing issue and based on my search this is working in versa2 but sad its not the fact and i feel cheated now after using it . Even lower brand health bands can give this feature in todays date. Now m planning to buy a separate spo2 meter n throw this band in dustbin or file a case against this brand for wrong advertisements

....and still has not been released for the Versa 2 other then for a few people and then out of those few people seem to have lost the ability to see it. I find it very disturbing that they can alter what shows up in the app on the backend without actually updating the application in the Play Store.

if it is enabled for you which it is not for all users at this point you would find it under the sleep details.

Frustrating but true, only a few appear to get the oxygen level listed in the sleep section. I've looked EVERYWHERE to "turn on" this feature. I hear it just shows up. My friends versa lite has it but my versa 2 doesn't...yet.

Be sure on your bluetooth you choose your watch type, have your watch setting (gear symbol) set to sync. If classic shows for versa 2 dont pick that one, it only controls music and not other features (weird) Also, some androids you may have to go to phone settings and make your phone temporarily viewable to other devices, aka the watch. Good luck. It really is a good watch for the price!!
