Hi @RosalynG there are no battery replacement on these devices. You can try restarting your Versa 2, but usually a battery's life is ending when it starts dying so quickly.

Hi there, @RosalynG. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that the battery of your Versa 2 is draining quickly. I understand your concern, we're here to help you!
As @Odyssey13 has pointed out, we as Fitbit do not do it or suggest to replace the battery as that could permanently damage your watch. The battery on Fitbit devices are not replaceable nor interchanged.
Before doing something to your Fitbit device, please review the section Availability or repair facilities/spare parts and Exclusions and Limitations from this article fitbit.com/legal/returns-and-warranty.
Please bear in mind that as all rechargeable batteries age, they deteriorate to some extent and an older device will need to be charged more often than a new one. The best way of minimizing this effect is to avoid deep discharges of the battery. To maximize the overall life of your Fitbit device's battery, ideally keep it between 20-80%. Many people find that a daily battery boost works best ( e.g. giving it a 15 minutes charge while you are showering in the morning). For more tips and recommendations, please see Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

If you search the community forums you will find that there's a whole slew of us with this exact same problem. There's one thread that has about 60 comments on it even.

Hi @Jadusica75 - if you are experiencing problems with the battery life, did you try a standalone test to determine if your watch is ok.
To do this fully charge and sync the watch, then turn the phone's Bluetooth off, turn on only to sync once a day and turn off again. You won't get notifications during this time.
You can even put the watch in sleep mode and/or place it face down on a table, with the straps out of the way so it can't detect any nearby movement and the lights don't flash.

Unfortunately no. I opened a thread on this three weeks ago which seem to have disappeared. Had a lot of complaints from many on same issue. I am hoping at least in European Union there will be a legislatory obligation for google soon to change batteries of their devices for minimal cost soon. We have that for Apple iPhone for example. Otherwise we all need to get ready to throw them away go back to casios or Apple Watch that seems to live longer than Fitbit.

@Hgamsterdam - warranty in Europe is normally 2 years and the entire watch can be replaced free during that time, regardless of the failure.
After that, replacing a battery, when the fault is more likely elsewhere (possibly due to settings, usage or even the app, not the watch), can be more cost than it's worth.
A phone battery replacement can still be costly and waterproof may not be guaranteed and only worth it because of the high price for the phone. It can be in the order of €100.
Due to the low cost of the watch with sealed built-in battery replacing it without any guarantee it would fix the problem or be waterproof after, may not be cost effective, compared to buying a new watch which will work and comes with a new 2 year guarantee.
Watches with large disposable batteries (to get adequate battery life) would require a different construction (and would have to be bigger) and could even work out to be more expensive and come with other problems.
If you have a problem with your watch, it is good to make sure it is actually the battery and not something else.

Yep. Went through all of the recommended steps. More than once. It is a fitbit update issue. It is a programming issue on their side. It's not user error. It's not damage. It's nothing on my end. A fitbit doesn't instantly go from working flawlessly to suddenly barely working. Especially when there is no change in my wearing behavior. I could see a slow decline. I could see if I dropped it 10 floors. I could see if it was ran over by a car. I could see if I dropped it in a vat of hot oil. None of that has happened.
It is an unjustice to those of us faithful to fitbit, who suddenly woke up one day with our devices not working properly, not staying charged properly, etc. It's unbelievable how we are being blamed when there's so many of us complaining. It's disturbing that instead of fixing these "bugs" that they caused, we're just expected to go out and spend $200+ for a new tracker. We've lost faith in the brand. So, so, so many users are commenting that they're buying anything BUT a fitbit tracker. That in itself should speak volumes. That alone should make them realize that they have a problem and need to fix it.

Having the same issue within the last month or so 😞 Tried to reset and turn off features like messaging, etc. No luck. I usually only make it half a day before needing to charge again.

I had a Versa for over 7 years that I only had to charge a couple of times a week. I loved it so much my husband bought me a Versa2. From the beginning I could not go more than 24 hours without charging it. I’m so disappointed.

Hi @JulieM4 - if it is new get a refund - it is probably faulty.
But first restart it and see if that helps
Also run it in standalone mode for 24 hours. To do that sync the watch and fully charge it then turn off the phone's Bluetooth.
Put the watch into Sleep mode in Quick Settings and place it face down on a surface with the straps out of the way where it cannot detect any movements and see how long it lasts.
As a last resort it may also be necessary to factory reset it [not without risk].
If none of that helps it is clearly faulty.

My post disappeared and was no longer available. I know at last two people responded to mine but I couldn't see one of the comments and the other one was from one of their mods or whatever they are. I only read that one because that one went through in an email letting me know I had messages.

@BeeMagnolia that's happened to me several times as well. Some mods don't like anyone voicing the problems we're having. Guy doesn't seem bad, he just regurgitates the scripted response from fitbit, which is no fault of his in a way. But it's unfair to constantly read that the problem is our fault, never theirs. It's frustrating to sat the least. Many people, on a lot of different threads are saying that they're leaving fitbit behind. I will be as well once I find something with great reviews and affordable.

I've had my Versa 2 for 4yrs & 8months! I started to notice it's not keeping charge that much. Also now I have a blank screen with flashing logo. I have tried the rebooting advise given here and non will not work. I think this is the end..🫤. It has served me well.
