Versa 2 not auto recognizing activity

My Versa 2 is not auto recognizing my activity, I went on a 90 minute bike ride today and it didn't recognize it.  This is not the first time. Any suggestions for making it work?

I rarely had problems with my ionic.

The versa 2 is flaky in is ability to pick up data

I don't use mine for fitness.. mine is for heart monitoring, but silly when it keeps cutting out.

Back to ionic..

I rarely depend on the auto detection since it is not designed to give the information I want to see.
