Versa 2 not tracking sleep

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just went from a Charge 2 to the Versa 2. Since changing over, my Versa 2 will not track my sleep. It's showing like 1hr per night, but nothing else?

It is tracking steps and my heart rate just fine though.

I fought a month in the support emails. They just repeat the same **ahem** each email.

Sent from my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S9.

Add me to the list of people with this issue.  I had the Alta HR and it recorded my sleep perfectly straight out of the box for over 2 years.  I've tried all the updates, resets, etc. and I get no sleep records at all - "no score".  The sleep feature is just as important to me as the activity, and way more important than being able to "Ask Alexa".  Let's get core functionality working before we add a bunch of nonsense like a Starbucks ap.

My Versa 2 is also not tracking sleep. This has happened before for 1 night but now for the last 2 nights it hasn't tracked sleep. I find a lot of issues with this unit. I spend more time trying to "fix" it (I've only had it since after Christmas). Weights and measures change by themselves and I have to go back in and try to remember what I entered and re-entered. Getting ready to give up on it!

I had the same issue with this product not recording sleep, recording it for 2 days and then stopped completely. Done all the things reported on this forum. I have also had issues where the workouts are not recorded, Bluetooth disconnects, entries are not retained, etc. I received for Xmas and hoping I can return bc I spend more time troubleshooting and fixing rather than enhancing my lifestyle. I was so excited about this product but it really should work out of the box.

You’re correct, it doesn’t work like it should especially for the price. I
got a really good deal so I’ll keep it. At least i can wear it for my aqua
aerobics. With my Blaze I was missing between 3200 and 5000 steps a day.
Hoping fit it comes up with a fix, but it seems this has been going on for
a while. Mine was also a Christmas gift.

I've used a few fit bit devices in the past 10 years.  Even when they weren't wearables and had to put it in your pocket.  I've had the versa2 for around 6 months now and it's probably been the most unreliable one in tracking sleep.  Sometimes it's sporadic and won't track one day in a month but somtimes it'll miss 2 days or more in one week.  I might end up throwing it out the window.

Why isn’t FitBit looking at these posts!

Just wanna chime in here and say I'm having the exact same issue as many here with my Versa 2. It tracks sporadically and I don't know why. Most nights it says I'm getting 2hrs thereabouts, whereas last week it tracked pretty well, there's no consistency. Oddly, it tracked exactly 2hrs16min exactly for the last two nights. Wholly inaccurate and very disappointing 7/10

It won't give you a sleep score if you actually hit sleep in the app. Idk why but it just doesn't

I'm curious, is this still a problem for you?  I have contacted Fitbit several times regarding this sleep issue with the Versa 2 and they want to keep referring me to articles on how to properly wear the watch.  I've had a Fitbit for years and never had this problem with my previous watches.  They clearly don't think they are at fault nor do they care to stand behind their product.

Hey! I actually was able to fix it myself. I deleted my versa2 off of the
app and re-registered it and started over. I still have issues with it
syncing sometimes, but for sleep I haven't had any issues again.

Hi there! Oddly enough, yes. I got it to work just a couple days ago after
resetting, repairing, reinstalling ...like 5 times. Had to ensure no other
blue tooth devices were connected and then reconnected. So it works... And
it works pretty well even tho it was hard to get to this point. So try it,
bc it is helpful if you can actually get it to work.

Now, I can't add water to the device. Totally doesn't work. Gives me some
oddly reported small number and totally doesn't track. Only works when
added to the phone. Argh.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

So, I actually did get it working this week. But thats from tightening the band so it doesn't move. Then keeping on the inside of my wrist during sleep and turning on the app to begin sleep now.

The begin sleep now will be overwritten by the watch if it syncs correctly. This has been working this week. And since three of us our now confirming it working a little bit better, I'm guessing they sent an update out and don't want to admit to a faulty product.

Cause I was in contact for an entire month and it never worked with anything that they gave me at the time.

Hi

Yes fixes it myself too

I got a replacement Fitbit Versa 2 and now wear it on the inside of my non dominant hand. I don’t tell it I am going to sleep. Just let it Auto detect sleep. When I wake up I have a shower before I check data. It all seems to work. Occasionally it does have a data sync issue but if I leave it it corrects itself

Hi

I have replaced mine and it all works. Just let it auto detect data. Not used the add water so can’t help with that.

Yes, still a problem for me. Still missing tracking some nights. 4 nights this week it said I only slept 1 hr 58 min or 4 hr 5 hrs when this was not the case.

I really have no time to figure all of this out and I find the written instruction just seem to send me on a runaround.

I don't know how much longer I'll be using it as I hate wearing a watch anyway and am only putting up with it because I wanted to track these things.

Grrrr.

Re the water: I find if I enter it on my phone through the app it is fine but if I enter it on my Versa2 itself the number records in the app as a dramatically different number. I may enter say 28 oz on Fitbit and app will show 1.56??? This also happens with weight entry only on the phone app it hugely inflates the weight! Way to make me feel bad ... hahaha.

You are correct, I also had fitbits for years without this problem. They
are saying you have to sync with your app for the sleep to show up on the
watch which is nuts. My phone is no where near me when I sleep. How is the
app picking it up, and sometimes I have to sync it two or three times to
get it right.
