My Versa 2 tracks only 8 steps when I exercised on my elliptical for 30 mins. Does anyone face similar issue? I did held the handle bars and my arms were moving.

@kiat626 It's great to see you around. Sorry for the delayed reply.
Thanks for letting me know that you held the handle bars and your arms were moving. I would like you to restart your Versa 2 and track another activity.
Let me know how it goes.

Best AnswerRestart does not help.
The intensity seems to make a difference. When I work at 1-2 cycles a second, no steps is recorded. But if I increase the intensity to 4-5 cycles a second, the steps are recorded.
Best AnswerMine is having the same problem, I got a Versa 2 last week and am literally using the same elliptical machine but went from roughly 3k+ steps for a 30 minute session to a few hundred steps. I haven't contacted fitbit yet but plan on doing so after testing the device for another few days. It's really frustrating finishing a cardio session and finding out it didn't count towards my step count....
Best AnswerIs there a solution for this yet ? I bought an Elliptigo this week and my intense workouts are registering only a couple hundred steps for a 30 min ride. Data is what motivates me (and it's why I bought the Fitbit).
I have the same issue as well. Went from thousands of steps previously to hundreds. Really disappointing. It's there a fix?
Best AnswerI have the same issue with V2.. i was on Versa and never had issues with steps on elliptical.
I have factory reset my versa and it worked 1 day but then same thing .. very disappointed in V2.
If there is no fix I will return my V2 and stick to old versa.
Best AnswerIs there a technical support staff that views this forum or is this just a place for uses to write and possibly share a solution that we have stumbled upon? Is there a way to contact someone in technical support to discuss this issue?
Best AnswerSorry guys .. I did not get help from Fitbit... and don't think Fitbit monitors this post/site.
Here are my observations.
1. It seems firbit is moody at times I am getting over 120+ steps /min ( please note this depends on your personal setting intensity/incline, everyone gets diff numbers) .
2. Then sometimes it is hardly doing 80-100 steps for the same elliptical settings
3. Sometimes you have to keep moving your hand for it to register steps.
4. I can see at times it just sits there and not recording steps.
5. It seems it gets confused when it moves automatically to diff intensity/incline
So I am perplexed why, especially with no help from fitbit.
Again stressing this point i never had this issue with my Versa1.
I am thinking of switching to my FB1 as I still have it and observe.
Give me 2 weeks and I will update this post.
i did one test - wore it on my ankle - and repeated it few times.. and my fitbit steps on versa2 is same as the steps on my precor efx885 elliptical. Atleast the steps are in sync but a pain...
Fitbit never responded to the issue all they said is you can return it back what a pathetic answer.
Best AnswerFitbit doesn't respond or fix issues, they keep putting out new garbage devices and do everything in their power to avoid honoring their warranty.
