I don't recall this problem when I first got the watch 18 months ago. I've recently noticed it mostly at night. The screen spontaneously lights up as though I had flicked my wrist. When I turn it off, it spontaneously comes on again at a seemingly random interval anywhere between several seconds and an hour or maybe more (usually I'm asleep). My wrist and the watch are completely still, no movement when this happens.
On the other hand, if I have my arm at a 45-degree angle and flick my wrist, I can't get it to come on. I have to have my arm close to horizontal.
Seems like your engineers have some work to do in this area.
Ideas?

Hi there, @paulkinzelman. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa 2. I understand where your concern is coming from.
I'd recommend trying to use the sleep mode feature. When you turn on the sleep mode setting:
To schedule sleep mode to automatically turn on during certain hours, open the Settings app and tap Sleep Mode > Schedule. Sleep Mode automatically turns off at the time you schedule, even if you manually turned it on.
You can't turn on do not disturb and sleep mode at the same time.
On the other hand, if the screen wake is not working properly, please try restarting your Versa 3 by following these steps: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
Hope this helps.

Hello @paulkinzelman
You asked how to turn sleep mode on or off manually. I can’t tell you why your Fitbit spontaneously turns on sometimes at night. But it would be helpful to set up a sleep mode schedule for yourself to avoid this issue from happening. Look here for a YouTube video giving you step by step instructions on how it’s done: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QiN0Nn8Ox-w
😃 I hope this helps. Keep me posted

Hello again @paulkinzelman
There is actually an “always on” mode on the Versa 2. But something to keep in mind is that When always-on display is turned on, Versa 2 has a battery life of up to 3 days. To keep the clock visible at all times on Versa 2, turn on the always-on display setting. You can read everything you need to know about this feature in the Fitbit Versa 2 manual here: https://staticcs.fitbit.com/content/assets/help/manuals/manual_versa_2_en_US.pdf#page22 (look on page 22)
Oh course there’s also screen awake mode which can be set to auto or manual. When you set Screen Wake to Auto (Motion), the screen turns on each time you turn your wrist. When you set Screen Wake to Manual (Button) you have to press the button to see the screen.
😉So, there’s several options to choose from. You can play around with the different modes and see which one suits you best. I hope this answers your questions.
