Versa 2 stopped working

Extremely frustrated with Fitbit... I have been a Fitbit user for MANY years, from the OG fitbit. Never had an issue until I began using the Versas. First, I had a 1st gen Versa, randomly stopped working about 1 month after my warranty had expired - no injury to the watch or anything... since warranty was expired, all I got was 40% off discount and a pat on the back. 

I sucked it up and bought a new Versa 2 with the discount. Ive had it for about two years with no issues, until two days ago when I got the low battery notification. I forgot to charge it and so it was dead yesterday morning. I plugged it in to charge but couldn't get it to turn on past the Fitbit logo screen. Switched outlets, left it charging for hours, tried holding down the button to reset, cleaned the charging prongs with rubbing alcohol, etc etc etc. still got no response besides the Fitbit logo flashing on the screen then flashing back to black. A white stripe would flash on the screen as though the screen were glitching. Then the fitbit logo started randomly flashing on and off. 

 

Anyways I reached out to Fitbit Support yesterday and they were extremely unhelpful. Basically told me to do basic troubleshooting things (I had already done them) and then basically said sucks to suck heres a 35% off coupon...??? So the warranty can just expire and then Im just on my own to buy another watch? Completely unsustainable to be buying a new Fitbit every 1-2 years simply because they randomly break? Has anyone else had issues with this? I just don't understand how the watch can randomly stop working through no fault of my own and yet Fitbit does not assume any responsibility.

Gosh what a nightmare for sure. I poked around and found this other post describing the same issue of the flashing Fitbit Logo here: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Other-Versa-Smartwatches/Versa-2-is-flashing-the-Fitbit-Logo/td-p/49... Maybe you’ll find an answer there. It’s certainly worth a shot.

well unfortunately i was coming here to say that this same thing just happened to me. i don't understand why or what happened to it. since we got the versas, i am on my second versa 2, my fiance had 2 and now his versa 3 crashed too. thinking it's time to spend the extra $$ and invest in an apple watch rather than getting a new fitbit all the **ahem** time

It's not you or your device. I have a Versa Lite, and it seems to be happening to other devices as well, due to the recent firmware update.

Mine stopped working this morning, screen completely black, not even seen the logo, it's completely dead. It was fully charged last night and no issues. I already contacted customer support and they're going to contact me about warranty.

My Versa 2 just factory reset itself on 5/5. Since then it hasn't held its charge for very long at all and the app tells me it needs to install an update. Update won't install, just sends me in a constant loop of retry over bluetooth/wifi. 

 

Shock horror it's out of warranty so they've offered me 35% off a new watch. Spoke to someone yesterday in customer services, they asked me to do what I'd already done and then basically dismissed me and told me to get a new one. 

 

Now I've seen that they're still using Will Smith to advertise I think I'm all out of the Fitbit community!

My versa 2 is almost 2 years old. All the sudden won't take/hold a charge. Did all the troubleshooting things. Nothing helped. It will light up on the charger and says it's charging, i can sync it while urs on the charger. But the battery life does NOT go up at all. Says dead/0% the whole time. It goes black/dead as soon as I remove it from the charger, so I cant even hold the button to restart it.

 

Contacted CS now waiting for an email about my warranty.

 

I wonder if the latest firmware update that supposedly gave use A-fib detection messed something up? I've never had problems like this before...

I have been looking for an answer on this exact issue for days! My Versa 2 started doing some weird glitching about 2 weeks ago - screen was going crazy. Then all of a sudden 2 days later is was fine. But them my battery started to die a lot faster then normal and now its just the Fitbit logo going on and off and a white line appears. My app on my phone keeps asking me to update but then cannot find the watch and tells me the watch is dead even while its on the charger. I have had mine about 2 years now, and this is so annoying. I hope there is a way to fix this!

unfortunately I dont think there is 😞 fitbit support seemed to not care and just told me to buy a new watch... not gonna buy a new fitbit if they keep breaking every few years when a new update comes out!!! ridiculous

I think you might be right!! it seems a lot of people with versa 2 are having this same issue right after the new update came out
