Versa 2 stuck on the Fitbit logo and in boot loop.

I've had my Versa 2 for a few months after replacing a 3 year old Blaze. Everything was fine until it took an update a few weeks ago and now it will connect then freeze and try to reboot itself, but never comes all the way back up. It just freezes on the Fitbit logo screen. After it sits there for a while, it will reboot on its own, and continue doing the same thing. Eventually the battery dies very quickly from this process. I'll charge it back to full. It works for a little while, then goes right back to the same issue after it syncs to my phone. Any suggestions?

@Aggie_CEO, I'm sorry for the late response. However, let me welcome you to our Fitbit Community.

Please restart your Versa 2 as described in this help article. After this, try changing the clock face to one developed by Fitbit, not a third party clock face and see if the issue gets fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

@JuanJoFitbit

Tried a few times. But it locks up shortly after it connects to my phone. Then the Fitbit app just repeatedly crashes

This worked for me.  In this case my Versa 2 watch is supposed to be synced with my android phone. But I would think this would work with any device when stuck at (not being able to get past) the Fitbit logo when trying to boot up the watch.  First I uninstalled the Fitbit app from my phone.  But before I reinstalled app on phone there are a couple of steps.  I put the watch in the charger (must be right side up in charger). I don't know if that is needed but the original instructions said to but that may have simply been since the watch was new out of box and couldn't be allowed to die during setup. On phone I then went into the bluetooth settings and selected "unpair" for the Versa 2 device.  But I did leave the bluetooth turned on, on my phone. AFTER all that I THEN reinstalled the Fitbit app on my phone. After I reinstalled the Fitbit app it asked to locate a device. Then the phone Fitbit app gave me the option to add a "replacement device". Because I had left the bluetooth turned on, on my phone, the app then went ahead and attempted to pair with the watch and the watch gave me a 4 digit code. A popup showed up on my phone and entered the 4 digit code there. Then the watch fully booted and allowed me to go through the rest of the watch setup and it booted fine after that.

I’ll have to try this! I have the same issue. Although I can’t get it out of the restart loop. I’ve tried factory reset button method and everything. I do have a different clock face and I think that it’s the problem because it’s a very graphical watch face, when I can get my Fitbit out of the loop I’ll let you know if it works or nor.

Good luck.  It worked for me but it's a total pain in the a........  It took me forever to figure it out.  I was amazed I even did.  Please let me know if it worked.

I got it to work but it’s still kinda doing the boot loop not as often but it’s still doing it. It usually does it at night, which is when it’s really bad so we will see if that fixes the problem tonight.

Nope. Didn’t work. Over the past few days, It’s actually is gotten worse. I should’ve just spend the extra 100 bucks and got an Apple Watch. It would’ve lasted longer. I’ve got plenty of complaints about my Fitbit. With google buying Fitbit out too makes me wonder how much of my private health data they’re getting access to. But oh well. I’ll just try to ride the issues out, and when my Fitbit finally goes out, I’ll get an Apple Watch.

Happened to mine today. Nothing can make it work. The fitbit logo is there and it's all. Have rebooted it many times (pressing more 10sec). Have excluded from my fitbit app, but now device setup keeps searching and never finds it. Turned phone off/on (samsung s10+), have reinstalled the app, unpair bluetooth..nothing. When I click the button to reset, it flashes and get stuck again. Watch is on charger.

I'm traveling overseas and want to have it working to track the trip...sad.

Don't do it, give Fitbit a chance! Lol sorry, I'm not an Apple fan, Fitbit (& Android) have given me so much that Apple can't offer. I'll never go back to Apple products.

I'm having this same boot screen issue. The past few days when I wake up my Fitbit Versa 2 gets stuck on the boot screen (all by itself,I didn't touch the watch). This morning I held the side button in for a looong time, until the watch power cycled. I had to do this a few times before finally getting my clockface to show up. Once that appeared, I changed my clockface.

Fingers crossed tomorrow morning it doesn't give me issues.

Best of luck to everyone.

I've had my Versa 2 since 21st April and been having this issue since about day 4.  Live chat recommended a Factory reset which worked fine for 2 days but every morning since, it gets stuck at the logo.  This morning, I can't get it out of it and have reached out to support, hopefully they have an answer!

Hi, I'm having an issue with my fitbit Versa 2 being stuck in a boot loop. I see the logo for a few seconds, then it goes away, reappears again in a few seconds. I tried the restart (holding back button for 10_ seconds and releasing when the logo appears but it doesn't do anything else. The dashboard indicates that the battery is dead but leaving it on the charger for 30+ minutes didn't do anything either.

Any further tips? I did purchase the device protection for this device...

Thanks,

I had this same issue + my touchscreen stopped working. I contacted Fitbit support chat & they did some basic troubleshooting, then offered me a replacement. The process was very easy & fast. I put it off for months because I thought it was going to be an ordeal, but it wasn't in the slightest. Hindsight's 2020 lol.

I'd recommend chatting with Fitbit support, hopefully you're still under their warranty & they'll send you out a replacement FOC. (The standard warranty is at least 1 year, possibly 2 - I can't recall. I was at 7 months since I purchased, so I was covered.)

Good luck! I know I'm super happy to have a WORKING Fitbit again!

To all with this issue.
I have The same problem and it doesn’t matter what you do how many times you follow the process to reset or reboot the frozen face just reappears. Does anyone out there know what we need to do to fix this or is it a replacement versa to how was his only three weeks old.

Exact same issue I got a new Versa 3, delivered 1/13/2021. However the very next day I see the Fitbit Versa3 power cycling .. where the logo appears and then disappears right after. It has been stuck in that loop for 8 hours now. I have tried the hold button down for 10 seconds to reset but it doesn't work.   Help!  The unfortunate part is I received this as a gift from my brother in the UK and now i am being told to return this i have to figure out a way to work with amazin.co.uk while I am based in the US

Yes if you press the button wait for it to restart again then release for 2 seconds and then press again for 1 second then let go then wait for it to reset.
