Versa 2 touch screen is not working

My versa 2 touchscreen stopped working. I can't swipe to my apps, notification bar or flip through my daily counters. Everything else still tracks, just the screen doesn't respond to touch.

Mine has stopped swiping too! It started vibrating randomly in the middle of the night and wouldn’t stop! Eventually it did after about an hour and not worked since! Very weird! Tried all the recommendations and nothing has worked!

HiI have contacted support and tried everything they suggested without any joy. They eventually told me as it is more than 2 years old (just) and Fitbits cannot be repaired I will have to buy a new one. They offered me a discount but to be perfectly honest I would not consider another one as I have no trust in the product. I do not think it is unreasonable to expect a product costing £200 to last much longer than 27 months or at the very least to be repairable. Sent from my Galaxy

HiMine stopped on 2nd or 3rd April and is only just over 2 years old and it seems from the posts  from others that there is a lot of us experiencing the same problem at the same time. I am not usually a conspiracy theorist but this cant just be a coincidence. Are we being manipulated somehow in an attempt to  get us to buy a new one. I am also disgusted that they are manufacturing and selling a product that only lasts as long as the warranty period and cannot be repaired.  Sent from my Galaxy

I just happened to come across info Re when I bought my Versa 2 and it isn’t as old as I thought. I got it in Oct of 2020 so it’s only 2 1/2 yrs old. Now I’m even more bummed that it’s not working properly.

I will be contacting support, my versa 2 started acting strange 2 weeks ago. This device isn't even a full 2 years old yet. It's too late now to call, but I will reach out tomorrow. My device went from 56% charge to black screen, reboot and it's showing a battery with a red line and then flips to Fitbit logo. It has been on the charger for 30 min and nothing has changed. 😢😭

Good luck, I have had no success with them, wife and I bought new Garmin's today as replacements so no more fit bit.

All the best

Hi. You should be OK if it’s less than 2 years old you should get a replacement. If you do just be aware of them giving you “free” access to premium. There are lots of posts about people being automatically charged £80 for renewal without any warning when this happened to them

Thank you and hope your Garmin is better than Fitbit. It can’t be worse.

Mine never had this prob until this a.m. My screen wouldn’t work at all & I wasn’t even able to do a restart. I signed into Fitbit web version & as soon as I did that, my screen came back & everything appears to be working fine. The other ‘sudden’ prob I have is my battery life has dropped from 4 days to about 24 hrs. Fully charged it yest & when I got my screen working again this a.m. it now shows I’m at 23%.
The other pervasive prob
I’ve had (since Feb APP update) is I keep losing BT pairing & need to forget device then re-pair every time I want to sync. Have tried everything to fix it w/no luck.

Hi

Yes I was also experiencing short battery charge before my screen stopped responding. What do you mean by signing into the Fitbit web please?

@MIHJ Using your web browser, go to Fitbit.com then login to your Fitbit acct there. This is the web version of your acct vs phone APP you’re using. I logged in using safari on my iPhone but you can access from a computer as well. Good luck!

Unfortunately, I have the same problem. All of the proposed fixes do not work — resetting, factory reset, etc. After doing the factory reset it display an error saying that it was unable to clear data, so I did another reset. After a second factory reset it wants to update, which it does, but still gives an error message about clearing data. Then after that it starts displaying the “get to know your versa2” displays which you can’t clear because the screen doesn’t respond to swipes or taps anymore…

(BTW, to do a factory reset when you can’t get to the setting options on the watch because you can’t swipe or tap do this: push in and hold in the button on the left side until the screen goes blank and the versa logo appears. Keep holding the button in until the logo go away. Then as soon as the logo disappears, release and immediately push the button and again and hold it in until you feel the watch vibrate then release it. The vibrate indicates that it’s doing a factory reset)

So, yeah, all of those “solutions” do not work — reset, factory resets, or the best one — changing the watch face.

They said they would “escalate” my case and send me an email with possible solution. Well, I got the email this morning and the only “solution” offered was to give me a 35% discount on buying a new fitbit since mine is past its 365 day warranty period.

I will say “no thanks” to that not-so-generous offer since this is my second versa that has stopped working just outside the warranty window. With my first one, the display went completely blank and would totally useless and there were no fixes that worked. Now this is my second one that has stopped working correctly.. I can use it as a watch since the display works, but that’s it since I can’t get past the main screen to do anything else. At least when you reset it it clears the alarms because before I did a reset it an alarm went off I couldn’t turn it off because tapping the display to silence it did nothing.

Yes, and after having bought 2 versas I could have just bought an apple watch and had been done with it by now. I think I’ll just go back to old fashioned analog.

Yes, the timing is certainly curious to say the least.
