Versa 2 won't pair or sync with my phone anymore

~ 2+ year old Versa 2 that had no previous issues just stopped syncing. Tried all the tricks I can think of... reset, hard reset, delete program, reinstall program...

Watch begins the process of pairing... shows up in the Bluetooth section on different devices... begins connection/setup/syncing process then stops

Perfermed hard reset after the soft reset didn't fix the Bluetooth issue and now the watch's face just boots to the fitbit welcome and loops...

Any additional ideas will extremely welcomed... TIA

Hi there, @NBStwo @Try0 @IFleming. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your posts about the issues with your Fitbit devices and the time you've taken in order to solve the inconvenience. There are still some steps we can try!

I totally agree with the tips and recommendations provided by @JH23 and @nit819 (I'm glad you both are back on track, btw!). So, let's try the following steps in the order listed:

  • Unpair (or make sure you've unpaired) your Fitbit device from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Fitbit device.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Fitbit device.
  • Once your Fitbit device is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Fitbit device first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

Hi. Mine has just done this in last 2 days. Have uninstall and reinstalled the app, reset the fitbit. The watch still records my steps etc fine, but can't pair with phone and phone says "this device needs an app to work"

If you haven’t already, try turning your phone off for a few seconds. Took care of the problem for me. Hope this helps

Try turning off Bluetooth on your other devices. I had syncing issues of this sort with my own Versa 2 watch until I figured out that my watch was connecting with my computer rather than my cellphone. Turned off the Bluetooth on my PC and syncing started happening normally again.

I figured this out when I found out that my watch would sync normally when I'm outside of my house (when PC is out of range), meaning something in my house was interfering with the syncing process.

Me too. For 3 days.
