Versa 2 won't receive notifications

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have done everything properly, deleted the app and reinstalled and every other thing one can do. I am not receiving any msgs (whatssapp, texts or instagram). I am only receiving calls and emails.

Anyone know how to fix this!?

@Jgifta, welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa 2 since it won't receive notifications. By the way, thank you for troubleshooting this issue before contacting our forums.

Please let me know what is the brand and model of your phone.

In the meantime, I'd like you to try the troubleshooting steps that are listed in this help article. This article may contain steps that you already tried but you can skip them and proceed with the rest. After this, monitor your watch and see if it receives notifications properly.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

I have done all the troubleshooting and still cannot receive texts. I am getting all other notifications. I have the Versa 2 since Christmas with no issues until this morning.

Here are things I have done:

Unpaired bluetooth and repaired

Turned off and on both devices

Turned off notifications, restarted device and turned notifications back one

synced multiple times

Turned off bluetooth all together and restarted

Made sure do not disturb is off on both devices.

Still unable to get any text messages. Again, everything else is coming through.

My phone is a Galaxy S10

Thank you for all your help!

I have the same issue with my iPhone. I have done everything the troubleshooting has said to do and nothing works. I read where the do not disturb will cause it not to work so I turned it off with no luck. I have it set for certain hours so not sure why the would stop notifications during the day! I just bought this and have never received notifications. Feeling like I shouldn’t have bought it as my old blaze worked fine!!

I’m very disappointed! It’s brand new, I’ve tried everything including factory reset!

I know I spent my Christmas money to get an updated version and I should have bought something else! My blaze worked fine!

The most frustrating part is, it worked great for 2 weeks. Then just stopped getting texts on it. Every other notification still.comes through fine. Just not text messages. That  was one of the features I was most excited about

My Fitbit is getting some notifications but not all as well.  This has been happening for a few days and it is very frustrating.  I've done all of the things that are suggested to no avail.  I have a Samsung Galaxy S10+

Versa 2 has always been like this and I got it when it first came out.  I have to reboot my android phone and/or turn off and on my bluetooth every day to get notifications to work again and they do, for a while.  I really like the Versa 2 but this is extremely annoying to do every single day and sometimes more than once a day.

The Versa 1 was exactly the same for me with 3 different phones. It doesn't seem to matter if the phone is on the compatibility list or not.  I had both with the same result.  I just think the software has always been buggy.   You either have to live with this or go with a different watch.  I don't think it will ever change because it has been like this for years and through numerous updates.

One thing on Android 10 is to make sure NOT to optimize battery for the Fitbit app.  This is in the settings. You also want to make sure Notification Access settings for fitbit is selected on. Finally if you still have issues, turn off your Adaptive Notifications and see if that helps.  This is the new Google AI managed notifications feature of Android 10

This doesn't sound very encouraging but thank you for the information.   I'll try those few suggestions you made.

I have the iPhone 8 and mine is having the same problems. I just had an update on my phone so I’m going to try everything again and see if it will work this time but I’m not holding my breath!!

I'm crossing my fingers too.  I just uninstalled the Versa 2 and reinstalled it so we will see if that works.  Ridiculous that it is so problematic.  The main reason (aside from tracking steps) I got it was to view my messages!

I tried deleting my versa and re installing the whole thing. Didnt work. From what I understand.....its a big problem. Seems to be a bug in their system. Hopfully it wont take long for them to fix and send out an update. It's annoying.

Don’t understand why the blaze worked fine and now they can’t get the Versa to work. Doesn’t make any sense!
