Versa 3 battery is draining quickly

I bought my Versa 3 in July 2022 and it was fine for about 6 months when i started getting problems with the battery holding it's charge ( I needed to charge twice a day). I checked all the forums and tried all of the things that were advised to no avail, so I contacted Fitbit direct. They offered to replace the watch and I received a new one in a few days. I had the new one for a couple of weeks before the same issues arose, so again I contacted Fitbit who replaced it with a new one. Guess what - this one had the same issue so I contacted Fitbit and explained the issue - they could only replace it like for like again or give me 50% off any other product. I offered to down grade to a Versa 2, but they wouldn't have it. I have no other choice but to keep on getting replacements. I now have 4 Versa 3 watches ( hopefully one of them will work properly).

Fitbit obviously know there is an issue with these watches, but won't admit it. The Versa 3 is not fit for purpose. I wish I had gone with a Garmin.

Come on Fitbit, admit there is a problem and do something about it

Hello there, @crwebb. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for sharing the details about the issue with your Versa 3. We‘re taking your comments and sentiments in regards to our products and services into consideration.

Please feel free to reach out to our Support Team once again if you have any further questions or concerns regarding the outcome of your case. Since you have reported this matter to our Support Team, please note there's nothing left we here in the community can suggest other than reaching out to our team again.

Nevertheless, something I'd like to ask is if you're using Snore Detection? If so, please note that the Snore Detection feature does impact your device’s battery, so we recommend charging your device to at least 40% before going to bed. For more information, see How can I use my Fitbit device to detect snoring and noise levels while I sleep?

In addition, as @RHaas has mentioned, bear in mind that battery life will depend on how frequent certain features are used in general. Because you're using an Always-On Display clock face, I'd recommend changing the clock face to another one made by Fitbit and monitor your it's behavior in the next day. Additionally, try turning off this setting by opening the Settings app on your watch > Display > Always-on display.

My Versa 3 also bought in 2022 from Costco can go nearly a week depending on usage. Seems like its just your watch and bad luck.

I guess I’ve been unlucky 3 times then!

Just happened to me too.  Haven't bothered with a replacement yet and I probably won't based on what I'm reeding here.  Battery life went from lasting 3-5 days to now only lasting 12 hours.  Seems like it happened in about a days time.

Update:  Friday I logged a run,  when I got done my heart rate and pace were very choppy, the graph was unreliable.  Anyway yesterday I turned the watch off and back on again then charged it up.  For a short time while charging it got very warm then cooled down to normal.  Today the watch appears to be functioning normally.

Sometimes I think fitbit enjoys messing with me.

I was just about to check why I can’t get more than 48 hours on my Versa 3 battery. You are not alone. I’ve turned off all features and only have on a few core stats which I check once a day (it’s easier to check on my iPhone)  I don’t ask Alexa anything, don’t play music or answer phone, and everything else is off. Not happy as my Versa 2 lasted longer and did pretty much what I’m allowing the Versa 3 to do. And I bought mine be direct from Fitbit, as I did my previous Fitbits.

I’m now on my 4th watch (Fitbit has replaced them)
Hopefully this one seems to be ok so far
I would suggest you contact Fitbit on their chat line and ask them to replace yours.

I bought my Versa 3 in May 2022 because my Blaze battery only lasted 2-3 days. The Versa 3 battery chrage lasted for a whole week, so I was very satisfied. But suddenly, after about 2 months, the charge dropped down to 2 days. I did NOT change any of the settings prior to this drop in battery life. Also, he app now suddenly keeps asking me to log onto Bluetooth, but I am logged on to Bluetoothaccording to my iPhone. So…: How do I get my 7 day battery life back? (And no, I am not ujsing the Always on-feature).  Thanks.

Hi @Robert_Walker - new features were added in the Fitbit App, such as Snore detection which may be on by default, try turning that off. Also there is apparently a new firmware being distributed [over days] and this may have an impact on both watch and phone battery performance.

Hi Guy_!

Thanks for your reply. As far as I can see the Snore detection feature is not turned on by default - you need to press the Get Started button. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see if the FIRMWARE update is the culprit - but it’s been a good few days now, maybe a week, since my battery life dropped dramatically. Do you know of any other new features that have been introduced in the background that might effect battery life - and that I can turn off.

@Robert_Walker- there is a bug in the latest version of the Fitbit App which may have a bearing, where notifications don't appear on the watch.

Try turning off the phone's Bluetooth for a few days to see if the battery life improves - click here for more information How to resolve the Major issues causing short battery life.

OK, I'll give that a try - as I said in my original posting there seemed to be an issue with Bluetooth, too. Fingers crossed (and hope Fitbit fix this in the meantime). Cheers!

Looks like I am in the club now. I recently got a new Versa 3 to replace the one I dropped and broke. I have noticed a much shorter battery life in this new watch compared to the one I broke.

I turned just about everything off and rarely even checked the time. I’ve been getting 48 hours AT MOST!  Not happy at the Versa 2 lasted longer.

@knuthouse01  - did you remove the SpO2 tracker app and disable snore detection as given in the link a few posts back.

I have on mine and use it extensively without GPS and get over 5 days per charge.

Like you suggested Guy_, I turned off Bluetooth on my iPhone for a night. Turned it back on in the morning and now it looks like I am back to acceptable battery life - used only 16% in the last 24 hours. Maybe @knuthouse01  should try that?

BTW, FYI Snore detection doesn't appear to be default.

Thanks, I’ve made all the changes and turned some stuff off.  I didn’t have the SPO2 or snore on.  I reset, but will turn off tonight and see if that helps.  If not, guess I’ll have to break down and call tech support.  Thanks!

Mine just started this today. I bought almost an year ago and worked fine until now. Charge only lasts a few hours. The button doesn't respond at all and I can't. get to the home screen! I restarted it by inserting a pin in the hole below the button but it's still acting the same.

Hi @Sherlee59  - inserting something in a hole will only damage a part, such as microphone, pressure sensor or speaker.

If it got wet or gets hot on the charger stop immediately.

If you are able to charge it it should show the battery status on the watch when you plug it in or double tap the screen?
