Hi there, @KellieLL. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 3 is still unresponsive. I understand how you must be feeling, I will do my best to help you with this!

As our last resort, I'd recommend performing a factory reset on your Versa 3. Important: Take into consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account, your applications, alarms, etc.

To properly perform the factory reset, please follow the steps below in the order listed:

  1. Don’t plug the Fitbit device into the charging cable.
  2. Press and hold the button for about 8 seconds until the screen turns off.
  3. After the screen turns off, you’ll feel a short vibration:
    1. When you feel the vibration, release the button and immediately press and hold the button again.
    2. Wait until the blue logo appears, then disappears:
      1. Immediately release the button and then immediately press and hold it .again, until you feel a vibration.
      2. After you feel the vibration, release the button.
        • This vibration indicates you started the factory reset.
        • After the Fitbit logo appears, the Fitbit device shows the image with the phone icon and setup indicator.

It appears my versa 3 has bit the dust after having it for only 1yr and 2 months. I have had two tech trying to help me reset it, but it still doesn't work. It stays on the icon and then blinks off and sometimes shows a zero battery life, after having it charged for 24 hrs. Fitbit supports wants me to purchase another one of your products, promising discount, but never sends a discount coupon. This watch cost too much to purchase every 14 monhts, even with a coupon!  I would have atleast expected the company to ask me to return it so it can be inspected for a factory malfunction! I received a notice on 3/11 to say it is out of warranty. After contacting my daughter, who purchased it for my Christmas gift, to inform her that it is "supposedly" out of warranty. I responded to Fitbit support on 3/17 asking about the life expectancy.  Fitbit responds to say "my case was closed"...what!!! This is not acceptable! Atleast take it back and try to repair it!!!

Unfortunately the screen is turned off so unable to do as you suggest.
No button on side of Versa 3 and when l hold the side for up to 30sec nothing happens, no vibrations etc. No response to anything.
Any other suggestions?

thanks

Hi @KellieLL - if the watch suddenly stopped unexpectedly it probably means it has a fault (possibly from water getting in).

If when you try charge it it gets hot stop immediately.

If it has simply run down it may not be charging properly, see How to check charge cable - Sense/Versa 3 won't charge, won't start or blank screen

Hi @Gma59 - your watch may have suffered a similar fault and there may be too many watches needing repair that it's not a viable option.

Fitbit don't repair watches that have a hardware problems, but will factory reset them and send them out if it is just an OS corruption issue.

As a result they aren't interested in broken watches that aren't under warranty.

Any discount is available only on the more expensive later models which don't have all the features your watch has.

Thanks Guy.
Yep, just stopped suddenly.
Had 75% charge when stopped.
I tried charging but got hot after a short time so immediately stopped.
So, still not working, still unresponsive and lm still sad.
thanks for your reply.

Thanks for the feedback @KellieLL - unfortunately it confirms the watch is defective and unusable.

You may be able to get another Versa 3 more cheaply, as the later more expensive models don't have all the features your watch has or choose another brand.

That is unacceptable after receiving it for a Christmas gift. I will NOT own another Fitbit product, and I will be sure to post this on social media. It appears there are several people having the same problems with this versa 3...your defaulted product!

My Fitbit was unable to do anything you recommended. Totally dead and unresponsive to everything.
So no, haven’t received an answer l am happy with as still not working. 😢
