Versa 3 randomly rebooting itself

My brand new versa 3 keeps rebooting itself. I am not doing anything or touching it. I will feel a vibration on my wrist while I am sitting, and when I look at my watch it shows the fitbit logo and reboots. It has been doing this since I got it less than a week ago and does it several times a day. It's rather annoying. Anything I can do to fix it?

Same problem. I purchased mine in November and it randomly started the same restart bug everyone is describing. In addition to this and wondering if anyone noticed the same things:

  • It sometimes happens when it's dying
  • Came in contact with a bit of water I mean washing pots water so not swimming
  • It counts random steps hourly or heart rate
  • Do you use the default clock face or a different one? It's restarted often times on faces that have more features.

Maybe we can trouble shoot ourselves until we get a response? Super annoying, as I have gone from troubleshooting the Blaze, the Versa and I thought this would be the fix of it all 🤷🏾‍:female_sign:

I’m using a Fitbit face and it’s still rebooting randomly - only had the watch a couple of weeks, it reboots itself daily sometimes a few times a day

Mine (touchwood) hasn't done it since the update back in December. I use not so minimal watch face. So far no one has been able to pin point the cause and there seems no answer from the team who was supposed to be looking into it. Sorry that's not much help.

Hi Kate, is it possible to get an update?

The issue has been going on for quite some time, and Customer Service stating that they're aware of the issue and hope to have a resolution soon is hardly the best answer...

Thanks

Hi Kate, following up on this it's been three months, same problem, and my Fitbit has the most updated software that was released in December.  It's odd that there hasn't been at most a follow up to see if we are on track to a solution?

Just got my Versa 3 a couple weeks ago and it’s been doing this at *least* daily, if not multiple times a day. I’m also an ER nurse, so having my watch rebooting in the middle of charting an intubation/meds is super NOT COOL. My original Versa that I upgraded from never did this, so I’m super annoyed and confused.

My Versa 3 factory reset itself the other day so I had to set it up again which was super annoying 😕

My new Versa 3 rebooted during a workout, luckily at the end but still annoying. I was stretching with both arms behind me, and a definitely touched the side sensor spot then felt it vibrate and saw that it had the Fitbit logo on screen, then eventually turned on to the clock face. I am still within my 30 days. Debating just returning it at this point.

Hi Katefitbit - This is now 4 months since your post... Does this mean the issue is not resolved?

I had this problem too. Almost everyday my Versa 3 restart itself for no reason. I was using "Pure" watch face. Then I tried to switch to default "Pleat" watchface and restarting stops. Now it is a week without this problem. So I stick with this watchface. I like it except it doesn't support active minutes ☹️.

What is the fix here? My Versa 3 started doing this too last week.

Hi mi e was doing this after I downloaded a different watch face. I was advised to do a factory reboot and reset it up. Touch wood it's been fine since and didn't lose any data

Is this still an issue?  I ask because mine has randomly rebooted as well; I have had the device for a little over a month and this is the first I have noticed it happen before.

Hi yes i still have the issue most days, I find that when I go to look i have to enter my passcode to get back into the menu.

I like everything else about the watch but the reseting is pretty annoying TBH

I did a factory reset and its been fine since. It was a clock app that I
had downloaded that seemed to be causing the issue with mine. I hope u
resolve ur issue

I have owened my fit bit versa 3 for about 6 months and I just noticed this in about the last month. It looks like the fit bit community has known about this issue for about 7 months now, is there any progress on a resolution?

Mine still does it daily and I use a standard clock face etc

First let me say that the response from KateFitbit, which has tagged as the "Best Answer", is moot.  There's been no mention from Fitbit on this issue for 6 months after stating that "our team is aware of this issue and hope to have a resolution soon."

Next, I believe it's simply the fact that the touch/capacitive sensor/button on the side is simply to sensitive.  I've found that if I have my arms crossed just right, or my left leg is raised and my wrist resting in my lap, or even if my chin is resting on my palm as I'm sitting at the computer screen, that even close contact with skin or even light clothing (shorts) can trigger a re-boot.

I've came to this conclusion months ago, but am not holding out on Fitbit acknowledging this, or being able to fix it.

I now jokingly refer to my Fibit as a Fixit 🙂

Mine does only on occasion still, but I can't pinpoint what exactly
triggers the reboot. It seems to be when I've touched it some way, because
I notice the haptic feedback, but I haven't been able to intentionally
trigger it.

All in all, I'm now very happy with my versa 3. I no longer miss my ionic.
I'm a convert.
