Versa 3 screen is coming off

All of a sudden, the face of my Fitbit which I have had for a few years without any problems, lifts up like it's breathing!  The funny part is that when the display is on when it lifts up, it's correct!  Anyway to secure it back?  I've tried pressing it back, but it periodically lifts up!

@Lodian - Costco might take pity on you even if it is not under warranty, depends how much they want satisfied customers.

Note: to avoid future disappointment later models don't have all the features of the Versa 3.

Hi @Lodian - you are lucky it is still working and only need to apply a little glue to hold it in place and never get it wet.

The seals aren't so robust on some watches and do fail.

I realized that if I could glue the edges back it should be fine but before I found the glue, I did put a piece of tape to hold it on but now there is just a lit up white and blank screen!  I'm going to see if I can somehow fix it, but I'm not feeling too good about that!

@Lodian - with jiggling the connecting cable may only be partially connected or water has got it.

However try holding the watch button for 10 seconds till it blanks or vibrates and wait for the logo to appear and for it to start. It may only be temporary.

If it gets hot when charging stop immediately it means it is damaged.

Thanks for the tip.  I did try it, but only the silvery/whitish screen still.  I looked underneath and the face is still connected by two strips to the base.  I've never had trouble and love this watch, but it is looking sad.  I wonder if fitbit would replace it?  I've had it for a few years and purchased it at Costco.

We'll see!  I will take it to Costco tomorrow before I try to buy another one.  I'm assuming you mean the later models don't have some of the inferior aspects of the Versa 3.  Thanks, again, for your comments!

@Lodian - thanks, it's best to do research before changing models. For instance, a Versa 4 won't support any extra apps, no Google Assistant, limited clock faces available, on watch information and navigation isn't as developed etc.

I think I just discovered that this is a Versa 2!!  I wondered about that as there is nothing to indicate which number but in looking at the different bands, they say Versa 2.  I think I will look into other smart watches as well as Fitbit.  Thanks again for your input!

This just literally happened to me last night! All of a sudden I see my Fitbit face just dangling. I have the Fitbit versa two and I got it from Costco also. I think I’m going to contact Costco and send pictures. Hopefully they will replace. I’m sort of afraid to use glue to hold it together. I see that it is a thin strip of black sticky stuff they use. I’m going to try to find the product and will send a link if I find it.

Hi @Dc5nyc - if Costco won't help and the watch is still working normally, any phone repair shop may be willing to glue it for you, if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself. But it should never be placed in contact with water, now or when repaired as it can't be guaranteed as safe..

That's exactly what happened to mine.  It was never in water but maybe the seals over time wore out!  I thought mine was a 3 but now pretty sure it's a Versa 2.  I'll be curious to see if Costco does anything.

Also, my face of the watch was still working for a day or so but now only has a blank silvery/white face.

@Lodian - in the Fitbit App click the top left device/battery or profile icon. The next screen will tell you which watch you have.

Yeah, I did the live chat with Fitbit sent them a picture. He said someone would get back to me through email after looking into it. I guess it doesn’t hurt to try Fitbit first

What is strange, I just put the watch on and started walking, etc. and then looked at my phone (which I didn't have on me) and it had the information of steps and bpm!  Both were pretty accurate, just couldn't read it on my watch.  Oh, my.

Costco took the Versa two off their store. I was waiting for it to go on sale again, but they just dropped it without notification or a sale. They might help you, but not with a replacement Versa 2.

Yes, I doubt they will help with this.  It is so odd that the watch is still compiling the information as it did before but not displaying it on the watch, only my phone!
