I've had my Versa for just over a year after receiving it as a gift last July. The device has worked flawlessly up until about 3 days ago, when the battery suddenly started failing. It will now go from fully charged to completely dead in just under 8 hours. Having been a loyal Fitbit customer for years, I reached out to support for help, only to be told that since the device is just outside of the 1 year warranty, all they will offer is a 25% discount on a new device. Has anyone else had similar issues? Were you able to find a fix or received a better solution? Frankly this is not what I expected from a company like Fitbit.
I forgot to mention it happened after I did the app update. That's the only thing I know that's changed.
Best Answer4 months user here and having the same issue. It used to last 4-5 days now it can barely last 2 days
Best AnswerI’ve had the same problem. Battery needs to be charged every day now, and dying without warning. Everything working fine, until a new model is introduced. Kind of makes me suspicious, and I hate feeling that way. This is my third Fitbit, and I even got my mom and sister-in-law into Fitbit. So - very disappointing.
The same thing happened to my fitbit as well. I got it in February or March of last year and it was working great! Until this latest app update. I’ve changed absolutely nothing with my settings yet instead of lasting 4-5 days, I have to charge it every night. It’s so frustrating that it’s not lasting and also the fact that all the solutions posted everywhere say to shut all the trackers off and what not is equally as frustrating because what’s the point of having a fitness tracker if I can’t track anything!! I would love a solution because I love the Fitbit and it’s tracking ability and I want to be able to use it!
Best AnswerSame here! Had my Versa since January. Held a charge for about 4+ days then boom. Yesterday I had charged my watch to 100% put it on and about 6-8 hours later the battery is in teens. I just let it drain completely down to 0%, thinking maybe it holds memory, charged it to 100% and now 4hrs later it’s at 70%. I was basically at rest during that time. This makes no sense! I went through all of the settings and nothing is changed. Screen wake is on manual. Notifications are at a minimum. I did just switch the synch toggle off but while sitting here for the past 10 minutes my watch has gone down by 3%. Please fix this or tell us how to fix it.
Best AnswerI agree! I upgraded to the Blaze, then the Versa, because I loved the tracking and other features. If you have to turn off notifications, and things like that - what's the point. Especially at the price point we pay. And I've been monitoring my sleep patterns, so hate it when it 'dies' just before I'm going to bed. And I used to get a notification that the battery was running low, but that is not happening now - except on rare occasion. I haven't changed settings, so don't know what that has stopped working. If I was alerted when it was 25%, it wouldn't be so bad. But it just goes to black and when I get it in the charger, it's at '0' most of the time. Anyway - hoping Fitbit will have some solutions for us.
Ok as of this morning after charging my watch just before bed my battery is at 97%. My fix... not an easy one and not one that I would consider appropriate, but I ended up doing a factory reset. The factory reset is a bit tedious because you have to then remove your old Versa from the app. I then Updated the App and added my “new” Versa. Turned off the auto synch, which doesn’t bother me too much and made sure the screen wake was set to Maunual. Voila! Now I am almost wondering if maybe the issues had something to do with the watch face that I had selected previously because that watch face was no longer available. Hoping this will help others. Although it is not the perfect fix, it’s better than ditching it for a new more expensive alternative.
Best AnswerWell an up date... I spoke to someone on chat at fibit yesterday and he said to do a battery test. Wait till completely flat then charge fully. Sync through out the day and then call back. This is where it gets strange so I charge my completely flat versa on the same charger for the same amount of time and low and behold I took it off the charger last night and it still has 92% 13 hrs later. All I have done differently is speak to someone at fibit who confirmed he could see my versa was connected to my account .
Best AnswerHad a battery issue a couple months back after a brief watch face change (we're talking minutes). Finally got things back to normal by basically turning off everything which makes the device pointless.
Yesterday woke up to a dead battery which I attributed to not having charged for a while. Fully charged to 100% and then some. Woke up this morning and see watch is again dead. I've changed nothing. This is nonsense and don't think I'll be buying another Fitbit ever.
