I just got the Versa 2 for Christmas and I love it. But it keeps on disconnecting to Alexa. Why is this?! Is there a way I can correct this?
Thanks

Hi everyone! Thank you for your comments, reports and efforts.

Please verify to have the latest Fitbit app installed. (App version 3.42.1 or above)

This should solve the issue.

Hi @RyckiMallard , a warm welcome to the Community! I apologize for the delayed response.

Please verify that the Fitbit and Amazon apps are up to date. Also keep in mind, that the apps should be allowed to run in the background, also with the display turned off.

In the Fitbit app, go to your profile picture>Versa 2 and check that the All day sync option is turned on, and if you are using Android also Always connected option .

Let me know how it goes.

In the Fitbit app, go to your profile picture>Versa 2 and check that the All day sync option is turned on, and if you are using Android also Always connected option .   So this advice is nonsense, nowhere on my fitbit app do these options exist...

Best Answer

These options don't exist on my app either, and my Alexa keeps disconnecting! 🤬

Best Answer

Same, mine keeps disconnecting and I don't have the option to keep it synced all day

@Tiggyc @AmyGMac @Damo85 Nice to see you on the Community! Thank you for your messages. The post above is from Oct/2020 . Since then we had several app updates.

Please check that the energy saving mode and the do not disturb option (mute) are switched off on the mobile phone.

To do this, make sure that no other Bluetooth device is connected to the mobile phone or nearby. (Headphones, keyboards, etc.)

IMPORTANT: Please allow the Fitbit app to run on the background.  (On most of the cell phone models you'll find the settings under Settings>Apps>Fitbit App.>Battery consumption. )

I also don't have that option. I do allow my fitbit to run in the
background, and I don't have anything energy saving mode, so I just have to
reconnect it every day.

@AmyGMac  Thank you for your reply and further information.

Depending on your phone model, the permission to allow the app to run on the background can be title differently .

Please on your mobile device, please go to settings>apps>Fitbit app and clear the cache of it. Don't worry all your synced data is saved on your account.

Then, please do as follows, some steps you have already done, but the order is important:

  1. Restart your Versa
  2. Please on the mobile phone, go to Settings> Bluetooth, and remove all connections that are there with the watch. (Forget, ignore or unpair the device depending on the version of the mobile phone's operating system)
  3. Turn off the bluetooth and restart your phone. (switch off and on again).
  4. When the phone is back on, turn the bluetooth on again, but DO NOT try to connect to the Versa from here.
  5. Go to the app. From here, try to set up the Versa as a new device.

See you around.

I tried this, and it did not work. What are the other suggestions? It's a major problem if Alexa keeps disconnecting because that is the way I respond to texts.  Fitbit customer service has not been able to help me at all.

Best Answer

Nope! I've tried all of the above and it stayed connected for about 1 day and carried on disconnecting. This is getting really tiresome now. Fitbit need to sort it out because it never used to do it so its something in your software.

I'm having the exact same problem as well. Seems to stay logged in/connected to Amazon for 1-2 days then I have to log in again

I have tried these steps. It is what it is. I'll just keep reconnecting it
every day. It's just a pain in the rear, and it shouldn't be happening.

Thanks.

This is STILL happening and now my notifications don't come to on my watch because it says that the notifications aren't working and you have to restart your phone but when I do nothing changes. This is absolutely ridiculous and needs sorting or else I'll be asking for a replacement.

Same for me. Need to reconnect every day (I power off the phone each night).

Some time ago it worked on same phone same account same versa. maybe before Fitbit add Google assistant ? ....

Why Fitbit introduce new bugs and destroy features wich worked each time it update device or software. Very very annoying and become a not serious company. If think this do not improve with Google deal 😞
