I just got the Versa 2 for Christmas and I love it. But it keeps on disconnecting to Alexa. Why is this?! Is there a way I can correct this?
Thanks

I've been having this same problem with my Versa 3. Every other day it disconnects from Alexa. Sounds like a software problem that Fitbit needs to fix.

Had the Versa 2 for 2 years, no isses with Alexa whatsoever. Got Versa 2 for Mother's day and Alexa keeps disconnecting. Going to follow this thread to see updates. I've performed the above recommended steps. We'll see what happens... someone above mentioned that it may have to do with Fitbit introducing Google assistant, could be? Definitely a bug

It's getting worse. I now sometimes have to reconnect every hour or at least every time I want to use Alexa. It used to be that I had to reconnect every day, now it's far more often.

I have the same problem - have had the Versa 2 for one and a half years and Alexa had worked fine until maybe the last 2 months.

This is bigger issue than we know. A Fitbit moderator posted that it was being worked on but there hasn't been any public comment lately.  Maybe problems are related to the ongoing roll out of Google assistant features on the other smart watches?  My problem with Alexa disconnecting from the Versa 2 started after the first week of May.  It had previously worked really well.  Hope it's addressed soon.

This is happening to me as well for the last 3 weeks. I must reconnect Alexa every day or multiple times a day. I've talked to support and they had me do a factory reset on the watch, delete and reinstall the app and it's continuing to happen. I'd like to follow this thread for solutions.

Fitbit Support emailed me that they are aware of the issue but don't have a solution.  It doesn't seem as though they are trying to correct it.

None of these options exist on the app. None of us changed settings. This is a recent issue, there is probably something broken with your API connection on the developer end.

Completely agree, they just need enough of us to raise the issue hefore they come out with annupdate that fixes. Come on Fitbit!!!!!

I have been having the same issue. I have tried everything above that my phone and/or app have. Not only am I having to reconnect every day, but my reminders are not working after reconnecting. I set a reminder last night around 6 p.m., after reconnecting, to remind me to do something at 7 a.m. today. At 7:15 a.m. I remembered the task, but my Versa never vibrated a reminder. About 4 a.m. this morning, I attempted to set another reminder on my phone for 9 a.m., and had to reconnect to Alexa. This was less than 12 hours later. I checked the Alexa app and my reminders are there, but they are not being synced with my Fitbit, although that is what I use to set them. I am more than annoyed with this.

I have the same problem, tried setting my watch up as new, still having to reconnect alexa daily and missing reminders.

Hi everyone! Thank you for your comments, reports and efforts.

Please verify to have the latest Fitbit app installed. (App version 3.42.1 or above)

This should solve the issue.

See you around.

No luck Juan. Pretty confident we've all tried this at one point during our troubleshooting.

Hi,

Since 2 days now, it seem working fine again. Do not remember if they have a Fibit app update but it works. No need to reconnect yesterday and today (and I power off the phone for the night)

I've tried this more times than I can count. 🙄

@AmyGMac @dersie @Nbateman5 Thank you for your reply and further information. We recently released a new app update. Please make sure that you have installed it.

Could you please let me know if after the update and mobile device restart (off/on) the situation persists.

Updated my app, restarted phone, reconnected Alexa assistant in the Fitbit app. We'll see! Will keep you updated this week if it disconnects.

Thanks!

This answer has kept Alexa connected to my Versa 2 since June 14.  That's the longest span since early May.  So far, so good...

Thank you

No luck, worked OK 2 days but 3rd day and others keep asking for reconnecting to Amazon. Definitively bad support for Fitbit.

I resume :

- My Charge 3, screen dim dim.... until all black

- Charge 4 : locked on bad factory firmware directly from fitbit (half features works) and no update after 3 weeks -> return to sender

- Versa 2 : Alexa unusable after Fitbit/Google assistant update

Conclusion : never more Fitbit, definitively never more. This company ended his quality product and now it is just disposable device 😞
