Versa Lite stopped working

On 4 April I started achat relating to my Versa Lite stopped working.  It was purchased Dec 2019.  As it is now out of warranty it appears nothing more can be done and I now sit with an expensive obsolete watch that is now rendered useless.  I requested if perhaps some sort of compensation at least be offered as it is only 15 months old!  Surely a product such as this is meant to last a lot longer than that and no other solution offered.  I am so disappointed and disallusioned to say the least.  Shame on you Fitbit.

I got mine to work again (for how long, I cannot say). It seems like there
was an issue with humidity or water interfering with the sensors. I didn't
get the unit wet (and never have), I think it was just the sweat from
working out and the humidity in my apartment. But I wiped down all of the
connectors, both on the fitbit itself and on the charging unit, and then it
started to work again overnight.
Doesn't change how I feel about the product. I still think that they should
function for several years if you are using it as intended.

Sometimes I think we just want too much out of a product (not our fault,
that is what is advertised). I think phones, watches, and televisions
worked better when they had one task to accomplish. Now everything promises
to do 25 things, most of us only want it for 4 things at the most, and it
can barely accomplish 1 thing for more than 8 months at a time.

What did you wipe it down with?

My disclaimer: Please know that I do not swear by this method, as I would
not want you to do anything to damage your product any further.

But to answer your question, I wear glasses and I used a lens wipe-- the
disposable ones that are not dry but have a tiny bit of moisture. It is
called "nice 'n clean" and they are lens wipes that you can use on glasses,
cameras, goggles and touch screens.

Again, I cannot swear that it would work for everyone. Just that I opted
for trying it out of desperation and then it started to work a bit
immediately afterward and a bit more with a few more swipes.

I had done nothing to the watch before it started to fail. I merely wore it
while I worked out at the gym earlier in the day and noticed that it had
not recorded my workout and then it suddenly stopped recording my steps.

It's been behaving since I resurrected it, but if it fails again, I'll be
out of the Fitbit business. If I'm going to disposable products, I'd rather
buy them less expensive.

Hi thanks for the tip, I have wet ones worth a shot.  I actually contacted Fitbit and they are sending me a replacement device.  I guess I am still under warranty

Yay! If it's going to stop working, please let it do so when it's under
warranty and not one day later!!!
Good for you and good luck with the replacement. When this product works,
its fun.
