Totally agree with your post. That's exactly what I thought as well regarding this update.
I'll pass on updating my Versa once again.

I spoke to customer support and was issued a replacement. They had me go through a series of steps that I already did but they wanted to make sure we tried everything before they issued a replacement.

The new update is no longer allowing my versa to connect to my note 9 (android). Could you please let me know when there will be a fix?

This is exactly what my Versa has done. Last night the update, today the dead versa.
It's not in warrantee period and I'm a key worker and it's a real pain to not have it!

This is the first problem my versa had but fortunately it has been replaced under warrenty. Surly Fitbit can fix the issue. Even if we had to send the fitbit in to be fixed I would rather that than nothing. I was happy with my old one I presumed the fitbit update was needed not optional or I would not have done it. I hope fitbit can sort something out for all of you who can't get a replacement.

I never did the December update which also caused the same issues that this version is also causing. After seeing the posts in this thread plus various other posts, I'm not updating my Versa once again.
You do have the option of dismissing the update reminder from the app mobile app when you open it. (Wish there was a way to just dismiss it permanently).
My Versa works fine and I plan on just letting die in it's on accord not due to a firmware update which once again wasn't tested and its causing major issues.
Fitbit needs to provide detailed information regarding these firmware updates and let users decide on whether or not they want to do the update.
My next device will not be a Fitbit that's for sure!

My FitBit vibrated and the screen went blank this morning. I put it on the charger even though it should not have yet been due. It is not waking up. I have tried to force reset it but the screen remains black. I had my original replaced last August due to defect and this was my replacement. It has not been a year since replacement. I'm so frustrated and disheartened.
I have no idea if this has to do with the update or what is going on. It will sync when on the charger. If not on the charger, it will not sync. There is still no visible screen. 😞
Additional note: for most of this year, my FitBit Versa has not been alerting me of texts or calls. I assumed it was poor signal in my classroom, but we have been home for a while now. I have reset my Versa, iPhone X, reset the wifi ... and still nothing. On occasion I have seen a text message or two, but almost never and no phone call alerts.

I can confirm the battery drain with the new firmware. Turned the Versa "off" and the battery drained around 50% in 8h.
Switched on the watch consumed around 25% battery in only 12h.
What is going on? Why is the battery drain in off state bigger than in on state?
Otherwise everything works perfect.

This is ridiculous. I did factory reset and still not calculating calories and active minutes.

What ARE the specific fixes that this update was supposed to fix? The generic line about fixes is not helpful. From what I've seen in the 4 pages of replies on this thread as well as individual posts on the Versa Community Forum, this firmware 70.2.27 has done nothing to address the catastrophic issues caused by 70.7.14 and in fact appears to make things worse.

I am having the same exact issue. I did the update a couple of days ago and stopped receiving notifications. I have tried all the troubleshooting except a factory reset.
