Versa/Versa Lite - Fitbit OS 4.1.2 Firmware Update

Fitbit Update: 

 

Fitbit OS 4.1.2 for Versa/Versa Lite smartwatches has been released for all users. If you haven't yet, please make sure you update your watch to this new firmware. 

 

If you recently purchased or set up your Versa/Versa Lite, you might not see this firmware available to you yet. Continue syncing the watch and in a few days or less, you'll be prompted to update to this firmware.

Hi, Versa and Versa Lite users!

 

We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.1.2 exclusive to Versa and Versa Lite. If you're a Versa 2 user, your latest operating system is Fitbit OS 4.1.1, so head to that post for more information. 

 

  • Versa (Firmware version: 32.70.7.27
  • Versa Lite (Firmware version: 38.70.7.27) 

We started releasing this new update to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed. 

 

*Firmware releases aren't distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside.

I'd like to mention to all our Versa/Versa Lite users that if you run into any trouble updating, please review these troubleshooting tips. If you have issues after completing the update, try restarting the watch. If you're a Versa Lite user, PLEASE DO NOT ever attempt a factory reset as a troubleshooting method for Versa Lite. In case this happens, please let me know so I can request a case on your behalf.

 

For users reporting battery issues with Fitbit Versa, please make sure to follow all suggested steps here: Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

 

If you're having syncing issues with your Fitbit Versa/Versa Lite confirm that you're phone has all requirements to connect: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? You can even remove your Fitbit device from the Bluetooth settings on your phone and from the Fitbit app. Then pair them back again with these instructions: How do I set up my Fitbit device? If you encounter any issue adding back your Fitbit to the Fitbit app check these helpful tips to troubleshoot it.

after the latest firmware update my versa cannot connect to my iphone decided to factory reset now i'm stuck with "data not cleared Sync & try again" any help

My Versa hasn’t worked correctly since buying my new iPhone. I’ve checked compatibility on your website and the XS Max is compatible with my Versa. Downloaded every firmware update from you guys since late 2019 and my versa has never worked correctly since the first one. 

My versa has no Wifi compatibility and there for will not update anything within the ap. I’m lucky that my Bluetooth connection works and my versa will sync to the phone/ receive texts but still... Basically I have a $200-$300 digital watch... not a smartwatch.

Did you even read my post?

 

I had asked what bugs were supposedly fixed with this firmware.  The link is useless.

 

I had also advised why the battery draining was occurring.   It was a bug that the December 2019 firmware had that was not addressed and corrected for this firmware. 

 

I even copied the response SilviaFitbit has commented in her post on this thread regarding the developers knowing about this issue. 

 

I asked specifically if this was going to be corrected or just ignored since this should have already been addressed before rolling out this firmware.

 

Since my question regarding the battery draining issue keeps being ignored, hearing what my friend has gone through with her perfectly performing device and this firmware update and seeing all the posts on this thread as well as individual posts on the Versa Forum, I will not update my Versa to this debacle of an update.  It's not worth me compromising my Versa for supposedly bug fixes that clearly haven't been addressed.

This is also my second watch. The first was replaced under my retailer warranty for another issue. Both Versa’s I’ve had issues with. It’s enough to make me want to just get an Apple Watch

Can someone help me with my versa 2?

I just purchased it two days ago. It says it is up to date but when I try to download some apps or watch faces it says I need to update it to the most recent firmware. My Fitbit app says my versa 2 is running on Version 68.9.15. I connected it to my computer and it also says it's up to date. I don't know why no updates are showing up. If someone can help me out I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I tried the factory reset too. Same response.

 

What about incorrect or inadequate data recording?

Hi after the recent update heart rate sensor stopped working and even a factory reset wasn't helpful

This update coincides with connected GPS inaccuracies. Maps look ok but the km indicators are wrong. And that means pace and heart data is misreading too

Is this your solution for sync issue with the latest update? Sorry, but are you kidding? 


One of trouble shooting steps: 

If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart your Android phone.

 

Really? This was communicated already that ONLY phone restart helps with the sync issue but it COMES BACK after midnight again! Every day around 2 AM, last 2 days it happened at 00:40-50, device stop sync. And when you get up - nothing changes even after you turning on/off bluetooth, watch etc. Only phone restart helps. 

This is not a solution.

I have had 2 long and involved chats with Fitbit support and I have been told that there is no such update as 4.1.2 so it cannot be loaded.

Very unhappy that you have wasted so much time of myself and Fitbit support.

I'm hoping your response is not directed at me.  I've complained about the last 2 updates (neither of which included any number/version).  My complaint has simply referred to the fact that since updating my Versa,  the battery doesn't last a full day.

Since the most recent update, my versa isn't tracking my runs or bike rides. It may start but will stop half way.  My battery isnt lasting a full day and just now I woke up late.... it's currently 1012 am but my watch says it 705 am.  What is going on... I'm tempted to throw this out and get a galaxy watch.

There is no such ting as Firmware 4.1.2. We were simply lied to.
