Has the bug of the previous firmware (December 2019) for the Versa which caused excessive battery drain when users turned off their Versas been addressed and corrected with this version?
Also with the December firmware version, the way to turn on the Versa changed from one button to two or three buttons. Has this also been addressed and corrected?
In reviewing some of the posts already coming through on the Forum it seems like users are experiencing these issues with this firmware.
I'm not going to update until these issues are addressed.
Please follow up with your IT team to get these items taken care of ASAP.

Hey! @SunsetRunner
This new firmware addresses some bugs and contains other improvements. To properly restart a Versa watch, you need to press and hold the back and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. These instructions for Versa Lite and Versa 2 are different since they only have one button and you can read them here.
We always recommend updating your watches to the latest firmware to ensure compatibility with the app and to have all the newest features. I hope you update and if you come across any issues can always report them here.

I have the fitbit versa and I am running firmware 32.70.7.27 and I updated my fitbit last night. My fitbit still has battery drain by 30-40% when it is "turned off". I like to save my battery overnight, but this update doesnt save the battery life at all. When I wake up in the morning the time and step count is the same as when it was the night before. I never had a problem until I updated my fitbit. Is 32.70.7.27 still that newest version? If so, then the battery issue from December never got fixed

Thank you for your response.
My other inquiry was about the excessive battery drain when the Versa would be shut off that occurred with the Firmware update in December.
I have already seen a few posts of users that have updated their Versa to the new update and they are advising that when you shut off the Versa and turn it back it on their battery has drained excessively. It would seem that this wasn't addressed with new firmware update that just rollled out.
Until this issue is addressed and fixed, I will not update my Versa. So please have your IT folks check this issue and address it.

I 100% agree with you. I wouldn't update the fitbit if I were you. I updated mine last night and I still had the battery drain issue. If it's not broke, then dont fix it. So if you like the versa the way it is, then there is no need to update it. I had to update mine because it stopped counting my steps.

I didn't do the December update because of the the issues that were posted. The battery draining overnight if you turn off your Versa was echoed a lot by users and was a deal breaker for me.
I personally like the format of the older firmware versions better and don't really care about the additional so called enhancements. Since the one major issue (excessive battery drain) casued by the December Firmware update has not been addressed and corrected after 4 months, I will not be updating until this has been addressed and corrected. I will just keep ignoring the annoying reminder banner to update. Wish there was a way to turn it off.

The original Versa is also experiencing this issue as well with this firmware update.

Hello
since the update yesterday my fitbit does not respond to any touches or the side button. It goes off on its own into different things.
How can it be fixed?

Can we just go remove the update? My screen won’t slide over anymore and the frame freezes. I’ve reset and turned on and off. But I can’t get to another screen. I’ve already had to get one new Fitbit in my warranty.

My fitbit has stopped giving me notifications. I updated thinking that would help... it did not. I have synced it... nothing is helping.

Why do you want to turn your Fitbit off? I'm curious about ít.

I updated my Versa yesterday to 32.70.7.27 and can confirm that the severe bug that was introduced in the previous update in December 2019 is still present. The watch cannot be turned off. The screen goes black but it still uses battery power and can only be woken back up by resetting it.

Hi @AlessFitbit,
thank you for the update!
Could you please explain what phrase in the update description does mean: If you factory reset your device and your watch is on version 38.6.1....?
Does it mean that if I perform factory reset of my Versa Lite, I'll get my smartwatch with obsolete OS, glitchy firmware version again?
UPD: I've just found out one more a little bit shocking post:
DO NOT ever attempt a factory reset as a troubleshooting method for Versa Lite.
Factory reset is usually the last hope on the unpleasant journey of troubleshooting. We never do it just for fun, right? Why the latest Versa Lite firmware does not stay permanent?

Some users don't use their Versa while they are sleeping and will turn it off overnight to conserve battery life.
Another scenario for turning off the Versa would be if you are switching between devices and want to shut down the Versa for a specific time period, again to conserve the battery life.
Unfortunately, since the December 2019 firmware was rolled out, shutting down the Versa can't be done since the device doesn't truly shut down and it drains the battery excessively. This bug is still present as confirmed by some users that have updated to the new firmware update has not been addressed and corrected. This was a major complaint from the users with the December 2019 firmware and nothing was / has been done to correct it.

Doing a factory reset on the Versa bricked mine as well. Tried everything to get it to restart with zero luck.

I can't comment on the power drain issue as I never shut off my fitbit versa, since I use the sleep info and found the oxygen level tracking very useful. I can say that this upgrade process was much smoother then the December release. My versa updated smoothly in about 15 minutes. In December, it was very glitchy and even thou I received the update successful message, my touch screen was very unresponsive and after wasting my time with online customer support, I did a full factory reset which got my versa working again. However, the 5 clock feature worked, but not very well, and often I would be stuck with a watch face constantly switching message, and would have to do resets, etc to get the watch face to actually switch. This appears to be fixed in this update and all seems to be working normally.

I really need some help please. I updated my Fitbit this morning and then tried to change my clock face to my bitmoji. It froze the screen on my Fitbit and then my phone would not let me get into the app. I then deleted the app, to see if I could reinstall it to make it better, but I cannot seem to find the right app on the App Store. Please help!
Thankyou, Elaine

I updated last night and had no issues with the installation but now my watch is calculating my calories incorrectly. Workouts which are usually 300- 600 cals are showing as 3000- 6000 cals.

The main issue I have been having with my Versa Lite for around a month is that it is unresponsive to touch. I see that others have begun to have this issue only after installing the new firmware, so I will definitely be waiting for this to be resolved before installing.
