Versa ability to turn screen light off

I have a Charge 2 and the light is absolutely annoying when in bed as a small tap and it lights up the room and is really starting to become a nuisance.

I am interested to know if anyone can tell me if the Versa will provide the functionality to switch off the screen light at night?

Thanks!!

Hi guitarwoman apparently I was wrong. To dyoo1 the screen from lighting up press and hold the left hand button. You can then select manual or auto. I didn't know this feature existed. I couldn't see it in the instructions
Hope this clears things up.

Thankyou for this. I have now found it.
It's strange how it took so long to get to this. As I said previously all that was mentioned was turn off quickview
Thankyou for setting the record straight. As I don't want to give incorrect info.

Hello. I agree it is frustrating when the versa light comes on during the night and wakes you up. Is there a possibility of a sleep mode so the light does not come on? Thanks

Hi AmyApparently I gave out some incorrect information and another community user pointed this out to me. I never noticed it in the instruction manual. I think it is p19What you do is hold the back button (left hand side) for a few seconds Screen awake and notifications are displayed.  Tap for auto or manual. I put it in manual at night. I thought the versa didn't have this option so was pleased when I was informed it didJulann223

Julann, unfortunately, if it's anything like all their other products, this only turns off quick view (lift wrist to view). I can turn this off on my Blaze as well. But there is NO option to turn off "tap to view" which activates when you double tap the device (screen or frame). This comes on at night and throughout the day with any movement that may bump the device.

I want an option to wake my device with BUTTONS ONLY. But from what I've read, the Versa still doesn't have this option, even after 3 years of complaints from previous devices.

Hi Moosecat

You can turn the light off on the Versa.

You hold the back button (left hand side) for a few seconds. It then shows you the "screen awake" screen. Press manual and it will stay off till you press it again to Auto. I think it is page 19 of user manual.

Kind regards  Julann223

Heres what I do. It’s not perfect, but better than nothing. I choose a Fitbit clock face that is not all that detailed to begin with (like Backdated), turn off quick view, and set the display to dim. You really do not see much when it lights p. The problem is, with the Backdated clock face, I only get basic sleep stats.

Hi guitarwoman

I like a lot of detail on my clockface so I just turn the screen awake off at night by using the back button and put it on dim then put it back to Auto when I wake up. Using the quickview off method I found you had to sync it. Sometimes that took a while. This is on the Versa. On the Blaze it was different again. Kind regards Julann223

Hi,

Even though the screen wake on my versa is set to manual it still sometimes lights up automatically for example when I bend my wrist or it bumps in to something (like my pillow, really annoying..)... I would love a view with button only option!

Kind regards,

Colinda

Hi ColindaMine does too.  I think it is when you turn over in bed your arm presses against the button
I also make sure my screen display is on "dim" during the night the put it back to "normal" during the day
Kind regardsJulie

It's because there is a "feature" that causes the screen to turn on when double tapped. Double tapping the sides of the device also activate it. So it's more likely you are bumping something and it sees it as a double tap, rather than hitting the buttons.

Sadly they just closed the feature request and told us they dont plan to let us turn off that "feature".

Really I just want to use the buttons only to turn it on.

Not true

Absolutely not true.

I have quick view OFF.

As well as the manual override to OFF.

GD thing lights up everytime I move in bed. Annoying AF!!!

I got this for the sole reason to track sleep. And now this device makes it even more difficult to sleep.

Not a happy camper.
