Versa battery draining fast

Good Morning All,

A couple of weeks ago I noticed that my Versa was dying VERY fast. I bought the Versa this last Christmas for my wife, brother and myself. They are not having these issues. I have tried charging from 3 different chargers and I get the same result. I noticed last night that while charging the screen would turn on and off while sitting on my side table. At 5:00 this morning after charging all night it was at 100%. Now while sitting here typing this message I look at the watch and it is on and off. my wrist is not moving. It should not be turning on. I have deactivated the quick view in the app and it still turns on and off. Also Screen Wake on my watch is turned to off yet it still turns on after only being off for 1 second. I have a video if it helps. I am a FitBit guy for the last 7 years. I tend to upgrade every year or so. I would hate to have to switch to another mfg.

@BigDaddyE thank you for getting back and trying the troubleshooting steps shared above.

I would like you to try one more workaround that has been helpful. There are times that third party clock face may affect the battery. Please try changing the clock face to one developed by Fitbit and see if the battery lasts longer.

Unfortunately this does not help. I have turned off all notifications on my Fitbit. I truely feel like the problem is from the display turning on after only 1 second of it turning off.

@BigDaddyE  I have had similar problems with my FitBit dying quickly, and I too have noticed that the even with the quick view feature turned off my FitBit still turns on when I move my wrist. I have tried factory reset and only syncing my FitBit once daily but to no avail. When I initially got my FitBit the battery life was great and would last 2-3 days without issue but after a month the battery life quickly deteriorated to where I must now charge my FitBit nightly. I am not necessarily bothered by the fact that I must charge my FitBit nightly, but I have become frustrated that on my longer runs my FitBit dies mid run which happened while on my most recent half marathon. I do really love my FitBit and use it to train but I would hope that for as expensive as the watch is it would be able to stay charged during a 13 mile run.

This actually worked! Awesome! Thank you!

Hi! Just wanted to let you know that this has been resolved! My battery has dropped to 50 percent in the last 2 days! Just change your clock face to a Fitbit clock. You can change it back if you want to. It worked for me

@JuanJoFitbit thanks for the help. Resetting the watch and keeping the factory clock face has helped! My watch was 100% before my 9 mile run the other day and only dropped to 82% once I was finished, so that's definitely progress!

Hi! I'm recently having this exact same problem with my fitbit .. I use to charged it about 4 hours and it lasted me 2-3 days straight , but since last week i've been doing just the same and it's draining the battery in 3-4 hours and i don't know why, i haven't done any exercise recently so i really have no explanation. I have a very basic clock face design by fitbit so it's definitely not that .. Yesterday I tried the Factory Reset in hope this would solve the problem but it didn't work

Best Answer
It doesn't matter how basic the face is. Try resetting it to a Fitbit
clock. This is what fixed mine.

My versa (which was bought for me last May 2018) has in the last few weeks been doing the same thing in regards to battery life - which is needing charging every evening.  I've done the reset a couple of times, changed back to a Fitbit clock face, turned off all notifications.  Still get to the end of the day with 30%.  My husband got one at the same time, and he's still gets 3 days before needing to recharge.

Any other solutions other than the above?

I already tried to change the clock face to a normal one design by fitbit an it didn't work. I already reset it to fabric mode 3 times and it didn't work either .. I'd like to know if there's a way for you guys to change the battery of my fitbit versa or something like that ...

I had the same problem and ended up returning it.  After calling support, I was told the battery life only lasts four days if you do not use any of the cool features.  You cannot use the alarms, quick view, music or anything else that made you want to buy this.  So fitbit is selling and item, advertising it as having a long battery life, but son;t say you cannot use the features to maintain that life.  To me that is false advertising

thanks ill try this as well

My Fitbit versa lite used to last about a week..suddenly dying in a day. Help please

Same thing happening to me. It started happening after the last Fitbit update. I used to be able to go almost 5 days without charging, now it’s every two days. I haven’t changed anything on my watch except for getting the latest update.

Yes, my battery won't last 10 hours. I can't even get home from work in time to charge it. Its really of no use like this.

So disappointed.

I didn't change anything that I am aware of.

Guess I will do without...won't get another if they are like this...only 9 months old.

Yes! After the firmware update I’ve had nothing but problems!

The firmware is probably causing the battery to drain prematurely so users have to purchase new ones. Apple got caught doing the same with iPhone. My VERSA is doing the same thing.
