Versa heart rate sensor not working properly

Hello group...received new fitbit Versa yesterday. Set-up went well however it appears that the BPM Sensor is not working properly. On my wrist it doesn’t register...the band is tight so i feel the sendor is on my skin. When i remove it from my wrist and place a finger on the sensor it will turn green intermitantly. Is anyone else experiencing this problem. I have had the “Charge” for a few years and have not experienced this problem. Any ideas?

Definitely agree 100%.  They sent me three different versas because the heartrate monitors failed on all of them and after a year, they offered me a 20% discount like that helps!  Stay away from Fitbit people!

Ive followed all instruction multiple times over past week, heart rate monitor has stopped reading. I have no light sensor even after all resets attempted. Ive turned heart rate monitor off/on, turned off versa between resets, did factory resets, completed software update, nothing seems to fix sensor. Any other methods to fix?

*Same here, I had to replace the unit. Hopefully, they will do that for you
with or without a warranty, given the pressing times we're facing. 😷*

*I really hope they treat you right, tracking our fitness right now is
important to keep that defense system up.* *Not that we need a smartwatch
to do that, but it helps mentally, at least for me it does. I love seeing
my advancements, and where I need to improve if I start slacking off, lol.*

I went through three of this device not working when I realized I had
wasted $180, there was nothing fitbit was doing for me besides sending me
more out and they weren't working. Honestly this version of the versa just
seems like its absolutely faulty and should not be on the shelves.

I went back to my charge2

Above steps dint work for me. I tried updating my tracker software and heart sensor was back working. But the very next day, it stopped again. I have tried factory resetting my fitbit as well still no luck. Can u you help in troubleshooting the same. I have restarted multiple times.

This did not work with my Versa 2.

I've same issues as ya man. It's not picking up heart rate but when I put my finger on it its grand.

Just upgraded from the Surge which I've had for nearly 4 years and took it off today for the last time. It never let me down.

Heart rate monitor doesn’t work. I’ve tried unchecking the heart rate, restarting it, cleaning the back with negative results. It has the green light on the back of the watch, the heart is red on the monitor, but I can get it to read my heart rate. I just got the watch this past Christmas. Any additional help appreciated!

Going through the same issues. Really upset that I brought this in good faith and it does not do the very thing I need it to do.

I've tried every single option given on the internet and put it on so tight my veins in my hand were popping. Still would not pick up heart rate.

I'll be taking to twitter now to vent. What a waste of €200.

You shpuld still be under warranty, call fitbit or email them. The work around fixes dodnt work for me 😕. Mine lasted a couple years. I did have to buy a new one though, still cheaper than the apple watch or new samsung thats what this has going for it.Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

Do you know I'm starting to regret this purchase now.
When I was choosing which one to get it was all good and positive reviews.
Now I have mine the bad is coming out.

I've had a Fitbit surge for the last 3 years and it's never let me down.

Was very basic now so thought I'd upgrade it.

I've had several Versas, not my choice but because they only lasted a couple of months, and they seem to be the worst.  I've posted negative comments about the Versa before but Fitbit will delete them which is why you probably don't see negative reviews.

Biggest issue I’ve had with this watch! I had the versa with this issue and warranty ran out. I recently upgraded to the versa 2 and from day 1 it was not detecting my heart rate correctly on a brand new watch. I did everything customer service told me to and it still was an issue. Getting a new watch next week. How does this happen with a brand new watch? And had the same issues with my last versa?  Customer service is great but overall frustrating! I work out 5 days a week and my stats have not been accurate due to the HR not working.

Do you have a tattoo in the place of where you wear your watch?
Guess what......the new FitBits cant read through tattoo ink.
Google it. I now wear it lower than I'd wear my watch normally from my
tattoo or higher and it works.

Hi there @One-stop, thanks for stopping by. Thanks for the details provided and for taking the time to troubleshoot your Versa 2 prior to contacting us.

While reading your post I was wondering if you've made sure that your watch is still linked to your Fitbit account? In order to do so, tap the Today tab > your profile picture > your device image, see if it's still linked and when was the last time sync.

If your watch is not paired anymore, please try setting it up again to your account by following the steps provided here: How do I set up my Fitbit device?

Then, check that the heart rate monitor is "On" in your Versa 2's settings. On your device, open the Settings app Heart Rate > tap to turn the setting On.

Give this a go and let me know how it goes.
