Versa is losing my steps

This evening my step count suddenly dropped to 164 steps. It had been somewhere around 14,000 steps and suddenly dropped. It’s acknowledging that I did a run this morning but says that contributed just 164 steps to my daily total!!! I’ve turned it off a couple of times and have done all updates! I had a goal this year to do at least 10k steps each day and 100k each week, up to today I was on track - will be super upset if it’s not going to record today’s steps!! Any ideas??

Just happened to me. Since I have a hard time walking & getting my steps in daily is so important it's frustrating to look & find all my hard work isn't showing. I had over 3000 steps & now down at 344.

Same has happened to me! Passed my 12000 step goal today but it has went back to 8000!

Has happened to me also, was fine at 8.45pm and when I looked had went back to 6500

Hi there! Thanks for bringing this to my attention. we are not sure what might have caused this, but we would expect this to be one glitch and I would ask you to keep an eye on your Versa smartwatches. In case this happens again, please let me know and I will be glad to further investigate.

However, if this has happened more than once, I'd like to ask if the steps are gone from the watch itself or only in the Fitbit app? Do you frequently sync your watch? Have you noticed if the times you've lost your steps you didn't have the chance before wearing your watch? If so, what happened to you is an expected behavior. You should have logged in to sync the tracker before you began wearing it.

I'm looking forward to your response, keep me posted.

The steps are gone on both the watch and the app, and the miles have also reduced on both.

I sync my watch about 10 times a day

This has also happened to me 3 times in the last week. I’ve lost 11,000 steps each time and has happened again to me today.

something Needs to be done to sort this out or at least help to get those steps back to what they should be

This also happened to me tonight. The Versa 2 auto recorded the exercise and added the steps and active exercise time but within a couple of hours the steps had been halved. I've had the watch on all day and has been behaving normally until now. Really annoying as it's only a week old!

Hello and thank you for responding! I sync often throughout the day. It’s happened on both the watch and the app...twice today.

This has happened to me twice today too, on both the watch itself and the fitbit app, and I also sync my fitbit regularly throughout the day! it was working normally until a couple hours ago, then this started happening.

Me too. Versa 2. Hit 10000 on my morning run. Got a second 10000 step notification this afternoon at 13000 steps. Went for a walk and I'm at 8000 steps. Glitchy.

This has happened 3 times today 1st about 5pm then 9pm then 10.30pm BST it is really annoying as i have a challenge ongoing . Although this is the 1st time it has ever happened in 6 years of using fitbits i am very disappointed as i was offered a Garmin by a friend but refused due to my faith in Fit bits tech. If this happens again i may have to take him up on the offer..

Mine keeps going back to 52 steps, but the calories burned is going up.  I am in a work week hustle, so this is quite annoying.....

Happening to me as well...logged over 11k steps (almost 8k from a srairclimber workout for an hour - steps from that show in my exercise activity but are GONE from my total steps) and only showing 3k steps for the day????

Best Answer

Gone from total on app and fitbit itself.

I also passed 10, 000 steps today & recently got reset to 341 steps. Restarted & shutdown Fitbit. Uninstalled & re-installed the app. Now my steps are at 327.

My heart rate also stopped tracking ever since the update last week.
