Versa keeps disconnecting

Bluetooth/Versa keeps randomly disconnecting. No rhyme or reason as far as I can tell, I just look at my settings and see that it has disconnected. It's a pain to have to keep resetting it.

no. it still does this as it wishes and while seated next to the computer with bluetooth on, bluetooth off on the phone and 10 feet from the router. your bluetooth stack is bad. FIX IT.

While it's a bit of a pain, I "force stop" the app on my phone, rather than rebooting my entire phone.

This post is NOT answered.  Having the same issue. IPhone X.  I have to reboot my Versa sometimes three times per day.

Did u get the problem with your versa disconnecting randomly?? Mine has been doing same thing?? I am EXTREMELY IRRITATED hoping u figured it out and can help me??

I'm still having the issue. Not resolved. Fitbit doesn't care since they can hide behind the "supported devices" list. I find it quite convenient they didn't make the buyer more aware that their phone more than likely isn't compatible with their app during the purchase and setup process. They wait until you spend money on their device to tell you it may not work. The fitbit app shouldn't be available in the App Store on phones that are not on the supported list, if that's the case.

I've been doing research since the day I've bought my versa 2 and have had to luck. Notifications are on and Bluetooth is connected but I get no notifications on my watch. It worked for the first day then quit. If I go into my Bluetooth settings it stays connected for a couple minutes then disconnects itself. I use no other Bluetooth devices. Phone is a ZTE blade prime.

I've found that Fitbit is working with apple iPad just fine. For the people with android phone like me I suggest that you give up. I got an Amazefit bip and it lasts more than 6 weeks between charges. Unlimited faces, and if you get the paid 'NOTIFY AND FITNESS ' app it is great, sends to srava, and Google fit.  Great alternative to the headache that is Fitbit versa  (with android )

I had this problem on and off since a few updates (on Android at least).  I found that for me, two things fixed it:

1. Ensure that the fitbit app can access location *all the time* even in background (more on this in a minute)

2. Ensure it is excluded from any power saving feature on the phone.

On my MI8 I set these by Settings, search for "location" and select location access. App permission. Search for fitbit and ensure its set to  "allow all the time"

Then Settings, search for battery, select "Battery Optimisation", then App Battery Saver - find the fitbit app and ensure its excluded from battery optimisation.

Because the app now uses low power bluetooth, it also seems to need location access all the time - this made biking and running gps tracking work, when the screen turned off after 30 secs.  But, it means you giving the app access even while not using it.  For some, that's too much.  I just turn off access when I have finished my exercise.  Oddly enough, this started when Google bought fitbit.

There is no reason for them needing access to location while not in use - it used to work just fine a few months back.

Bumping the thread. I'm still having the same issues even after two OS updates (one I got tonight and had to restart my phone and watch a few times to get to work).  I recommend switching to WYZE Band if you just need a fitness tracker. Super cheap.  Reliable. Waterproof.  The WYZE customer service reps actually care and respond quickly. I love WYZE and fitbit will never see another penny from me after this.  As you can clearly see, Fitbit stopped responding and never cared.

Amazfit still going strong after six months. Accurate, sync with srava, and
google fit. Charge every six weeks at the most. Can't recommend enough.
Notifications all working. 👍

I used Fitbit for years, since the Fitbit Flex. I'm done!

My Versa 2 was working just fine. It updated and now every time I turn off my phone (iPhone 11 Pro Plus iOS 13.5) my Versa disconnects. When the phone is restarted it requires that I 'SetUp New Device'.

Its either one of 2 things. Update to iOS 13.5 and the rush to add Covid BS to the OS caused the problem or the same crap with the newest OS on the Fitbit. Every other app on my iPhone functions correctly.

This is bollox and I've had it with Fitbit! In the drawer with the rest of the old model I'll just use my Apple Watch as my tracker. Oh, putting Alexa in a racker was stupid. What ever happened to a tracker sticking to what it was designed to do?

Thank you Morph2!!  I had to turn on Bluetooth scanning and it miraculously reconnected.  I did not have to pair it to phone again for the hundredth time!!

I have to re sync my device every single day. It keeps losing the ability to receive text messages every day. Yes the syncing works but it’s only a temporary fix.

Is your phone android? I think Fitbit is optimised for apple, and android
(phone) is where the problem is unfortunately. I switched to the amazing
amazfit and haven't looked back. It's great, battery last more than a
month between charges, and features... Too many to list.

I have an iPhone 8. Its fine if I sync daily but I’ve gotten tired of doing that.

I still have to restart my versa every time I want to sync with the app and now it's gotten worse with the last update, I have to sync with the app on my computer now first before it will sync with the app on my phone. Sometimes it will randomly sync on it's own or give me my messages, but there is no pattern to it. And I have tried all of the suggestions on other community threads about it, nothing works. Also have to charge it daily. I think charging it has something to do with it. Once I restart the versa and sync, it will continue to sync on it's own until I take it off at night and place it on the charger.

Yes! Same here. In addition to constantly needing to sync, my battery drains so quickly too. I have to charge mine daily. As soon as I take it off the charger (fully charged) within an hour it’s already at 90%. It’s been like this since the two prior iOS updates. Looking at the comments many others are experiencing the same issues. I don’t think Fitbit is listening.
