Versa keeps disconnecting

Bluetooth/Versa keeps randomly disconnecting. No rhyme or reason as far as I can tell, I just look at my settings and see that it has disconnected. It's a pain to have to keep resetting it.

Hey @tdlopez74 , I hope you are doing great! Let me give you a hand on this. But first, I'd like to ask you a couple of questions. What type of phone are you using? Is it a compatible device? If so and you have not had syncing issues in the past, maybe you have too many Bluetooth devices connected to your phone, so that is why your Versa keeps disconnecting. If that isn't the case, try the following:

- Reboot your phone
- Reboot the Bluetooth on your phone
- Restart your Versa again
- In addition, please review the troubleshooting in this help article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

Let me know if that works!

Thanks. I have a GalaxyS9+. I followed your steps and I'm all squared away.
Thanks again for the help!

Ok, I put the cart before the horse. That worked all of 12 hours maybe. I am so disappointed. I love this watch and it's not functioning properly is a real buzz kill for me. HELP ANYBODY?

I have the Galaxy S9 too and have had the Versa for almost a year and have only just been recently been having connection problems. I have it set to All-day sync. For a while, I could just clear the app cache but now it won't connect at all. I reset the phone, reset connections, nothing. Bluetooth is on, location is on but it hasn't synced for over 24 hours. I don't want to reset everything and lose all of my data, I am in challenges.

I am sorry to hear that you are having problems but glad its not just me. This is my second Versa, my first being broken after all fall and I had no problems with that one. I am beyond frustrated at this point.

Thank you so much for upgrading my issue. I am really at wits end with it now and just feel like going back to my Samsung but I LOVE this watch and don't want to do that.

Have not heard anything as of yet.

This worked, temporarily. The crazy thing is, my phone doesn't say its connected to the watch yet sometimes I still receive notifications. I wonder if it's something I'm not understanding or doing correctly.

When I go to the watch's bluetooth setting it always says off and I have to put it back in pair mode. Then when I go back to it, it says off.?

Thanks for your reply @tdlopez74! Our team normally takes from 24 to 48 hours to respond. In the meantime, I want to thank you for reviewing the Bluetooth settings on your Versa. Besides, please restart your Versa again, then check it's Bluetooth settings, make sure to select "Pair" and then go to your phone's Bluetooth and make sure that the Versa is connected. Then make sure they both sync.

Keep me posted!

It will pair of course, when I put it in pair mode but then a few minutes later if you check it again it does not show paired on the watch or phone. What is the "on" mode?

I have the  EXACT same issue. I've restarted all my devices, made sure my BT is always on. I connect for a few mins after I set my BT setting to pair with my Samsung S8 then a few minds later in not connected  I'm paired but bit connected.

Does anybody have the exact steps to make this stop from happening? Is it in the settings on the phone or watch  I have a Versa lite. Any help would be great  Thank you  🙂

I'm curious to as to what "on" means as well.  Does it mean that whatever comes in with blue tooth is automatically connected? I'm confused about that as well.

I have the same problem with my iPhone. The versa worked great for about 5 months and now it drops the connection every day if not twice a day.  It is a great device and does exactly what I want out of it except for this issue.  It is frustrating.  On my app I will set the all day sync to on and when I come back the app has turned it off even though the phone is connected by Bluetooth.  And when I try to turn on all day sync it says the watch need to pair - even though it is connected.

I too am having this same problem. For months and months my versa had been fine, but right around the last software upgrade it dropped off. Too me ages to get the update to work and get everything reconnected, but now everyday at least once a day I have to reboot and reconnect the phone and the watch sometimes multiple times to reconnect. I'm on a Google pixel XL.

Not a great solution But I am happy to say my versa has stabilized to the point that I get notifications. My exercises sync. All works for about 2 or 3 days. Then I have to reboot or sync so the weather updates.  Not perfect but a long way from the battles I had about 2 weeks ago.  Hopefully we gain ground from here and don't revert.  Good luck. I have not been following the boards as much since the issues have diminished. Again iphone xr here.

I have the same issue, which has only been for the last week.... Have to reconnect Bluetooth from watch settings at least 4 times a day. Why is it doing this? And please do not come with the generic response of 'is the phone compatible' becuase I did not have this issue (have had many others) since before last week.

Just providing a bounce to your post.  I am down to rebooting all systems to every three days or so.  Either to get a GPS track on and exercise to work or to get notifications to come through.  I was on the 3-4 times a day reboot and thankfully I am more stable now.  Things settled for a bit then back to the intermittent issue.  No changes on my part, it just chooses when it doesn't want to work.  It is frustrating to get all suited up for a bike ride, get on the bike, turn the exercise on and no GPS connect.  Then have to spend 5-10 minutes getting it all hooked up to track.

This is a great concept with "not so great" execution.  My watch face (weather face) updates and shows changes but I guess it has no idea where I am.  Shows highs in Charlotte of 78 tomorrow (right, try 92).  Uninstall the watch face and reinstall.  Repeat once a month.  Hopefully they will get this system to be more stable soon.  Good luck.

I'm having the same issue.  I got my versa at Christmas 2018 and had not problems until the last few months.  Everyday, my Versa disconnects from my phone.  To fix, I have to reboot my phone.  Somedays, I do this several time.  It is frustrating.

Has there been any reply on the fix?

Just an FYI: the watch isn't supposed to show as "connected" 24/7 in your Bluetooth Settings, unless you are using it as a music remote ("Music via Bluetooth" via your watch's settings). And then it should show up as a separate "Versa Classic" device.

Otherwise it will show the device name as inactive in your phone settings, but it does actually connect when your phone is trying to actively send data to the watch. That's how Bluetooth LE works (https://www.link-labs.com/blog/bluetooth-vs-bluetooth-low-energy).

That said: there is a widespread issue with Versa sync, and you will not find a solution here because it doesn't look like the support team recognizes this as the major issue it is. It is definitely not a user or device issue.
