For several weeks now my versa will not sync reliably. It is consistently listing the wrong time. Will not connect to Fitbit app after multiple reboots and unpairing/re-pairing.

While you are able to un-pair a tracker from the phone's bluetooth, a user can not pair the tracker.
So remove the tracker from the phones bluetooth and try a sync.

I have a Samsung Galaxy 9+. I have removed the tracker from my phone's bluetooth and tried syncing. Nothing changed.
