Versa notifications not being consistent

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Is anyone else having the same issue as me? The notifications for text messages and other notifications were working on my Versa. They now keep stopping. I have to then go into notifications on my app and it keeps saying phone restart. I restart my phone and then it works for a while, then it stops again. I should not have to keep restarting me phone every hour for the notifications to work. It seems Fitbit have quite a few small issues with the Versa.

Thank you for your response. I contacted chat with Fitbit and they were
able to walk me through some steps that I hope does the trick. It is
working now.
I basically reinstalled the VERSA from the app.

Thanks again.

Personally, I believe there is a bug in the Android OS where even though power saving is turned off and/or apps not optimized, the Android system still puts certain phones into some level of power saving/dozing when not in use.  It might be worth a look by the developers because if I'm right, that would cause all kinds of problems with Fitbit receiving notifications on certain phones especially those newer phones that have a lot of battery power saving features.

I have fiddled and restarted and reset my Versa and was discouraged and ready to return it before I saw this comment. This was precisely my problem. I'm almost certain one of my toddlers turned it off. It works now,  thanks!

I am not getting any error message and I have tried everything in the trouble shooting page.  I still get notifications from Facebook Messenger and phone call notifications, but can't get notifications from the messenger app and it did work at first.

I was having the exact same problem. Out of curiosity one day I left the app open and they worked. I'm assuming the app has to be running 24/7 for you to receive notifications. I havent had a problem since keeping it open.

I think I've solved it (Galaxy S8)  - I manually excluded the Fitbit app from the phone's power management process.

Settings - Device Maintenance - Battery - (scroll down to) Unmonitered Apps - Add apps - Fitbit - Done

Oddly enough, Samsung's watch management app was already on this list, and I'd never had these issues with my Gear 2.  I did this about a week ago and haven't missed a call notification yet.

I have the same issue! I was getting emails, texts, calendar & phone calls coming though all the time. today, no texts, calendar or emails. Still get calls.

Something I thought was odd up until now though, is that when I would get emails in, and I cleared certain ones, suddenly all notifications were gone with 'nothing new here' displaying, and then they would just continue to come back in again!

And now, no notifications...as far as I can tell, I have set it all up properly, haven't changed anything, it just is not working...any suggestions would be gladly received!

Try turning notifications off and back on from the watch.

Mine hasn’t been working for 3 days!

Since the major firmware update, which was some time ago now, I had hardly any issues with notifications. Very occasionally they'll stop working, but it's usually an issue with my phone or the app. My standard fixes are to turn off bluetooth, kill the fitbit app from the task manager, then start both up again. If that failed I would just restart my phone. The number of times I've had to do that is very small though.

I had similar issue. I noticed it's not enough to enable notification access for Fitbit app, it should be also added to autostart.

Try keeping the location services on.

I believe Bluetooth for Fitbit kind of devices now require location services for syncing in Android

Mine works everyone in awhile, every place that notifications should be "on" is on. Sometimes when my phone is connected blue tooth in my car it works, sometimes it doesn't. I have tried everything I can think of to get it to work consistently. It's beyond frustrating!!

Try restarting your Fitbit and then re-sync
