I just called tech support and explained that my new Versa is not receiving text messages, calls, etc., from my Samsung S8. He said this is a problem for the last few days. I think I need to return the new Versa unless someone has a suggestion.

Yup @BySchneider, by trial and error, figured out what the setup instructions for android in the help docs explain.
