Versa problems not counting steps

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have had my versa 5 days and it's not counting steps accurately. It's is very intermittent.  Sometime I can walk for 10 to 20 steps and it doesn't count any.  I contacted fitbit and they got me to do a test.  In this test I had to walk in a straight line and like a solider, it counted 97 out of 100 steps so they said there is not an issue.  I explained that you don't always walk in a straight line and it's very intermittent.   Fitbit don't want to know and are been unhelpful.  Has anyone else had this same issue? Also the exercises are not recording in the app dashboard on workout and circuit training mode, they record stats on the watch but in the app it doesn't show stats for time or calories in the front exercise screen.  The charge 2 used to record time.and calories burnt.  The versa just shows a -- for.calories burnt.  Think maybe there are still some small issues to resolve with the versa.

I agree. Restarting my Versa did nothing to help the problem.

Can you please be more specific, did you shorten or lengthen your stride length in the app? My average daily steps is almost cut in half since upgrading from HR to versa and I haven't suddenly become sedentary LOL.

I’m having the same problem! My Fitbit is missing steps. My boyfriend and I woke up and the same time, went to the gym together, workout out the same and came home and I had less than half as many steps as he did. He put my watch on with his on the same wrist and we wrote down the beginning number of steps, and when we did the calculations about 20 minutes later, my watch had over 500 less steps than his! There is something wrong with my tracking

I have the same problem. I have had my fitbit for about a week. It started counting steps today but stopped 2,216 steps. I have walked 250 steps plus every hour and it only counted 2 hours.I'm trying to find out what to do but there does not seem to be anything on the Internet. I'm going to wait until after midnight to see if it resets, but I am tired of the system saying I can do better.

Hi I googled how to reset back to factory settings, reinstalled the app and
versa and it’s been fine ever since. I also found that only syncing it to
my phone and not multiple devices helped too

Thanks, I've done that. And it's only synced to my phone, no other devices.
My theory now is that my previous Fitbit watches counted more steps than I
was actually walking, for example every time I moved my arm. I think the
Versa May actually be more accurate, sadly. I read somewhere that it
doesn't start counting until you've taken 10 steps to be sure you're
actually walking, so that may be part of the difference. My older versions
counted every time I moved my arm.

I am having similar issues with my Versa and getting the same response from customer support. It doesn't count steps live like my Blaze does, instead appears to refresh every 15-30 seconds. They don't say it's normal but since it's counting steps, say there's no problem. That doesn't address my concern.

Hello, I have had my fitbit versa lite for a about two weeks. the first week it was great all of a sudden it will not log correctly. I wore it on the treadmill and walked 2.5 miles and it only recorded 1.0 and the other day I put it on and walked from the kitchen into the living room and said "congratulations you did your 25 steps for the hour" I had JUST put it on!  I am very disappointed with this device. I paid a lot for it and its not very accurate.

Also when I am on the stationary bike or treadmill and I put it in a exercise its doesn't log any distances. Which I think it should do for the treadmill at least!

Any advice would be helpful.

What is the mobile tracker? The app itself? I also am having trouble.

I’m also having these problems. My sister has the versa. She’s done over 4000 more steps than mine says and we started at the same time and walked the same distance.

Ive had same issue. Just go to exercise and put cardio instead of bike and it will give u heart rate and let u know u at least worked out. Hope that makes sense?

Will that help with steps? I can do 45 minutes on the treadmill and be
lucky to do 2500 steps.

Yeah I'm extremely frustrated. I contacted Fitbit about the stupid strap
not always connecting. Almost lost the watch twice. Luckily it was in my
jacket. Anyhow they told me to send pics, I did and I haven't heard a thing
and this was at least 2 months ago. Given the price you'd think the support
would be better.

After all the discussion about the Versa Lite not counting steps, I'm not seeing a solution. It is becoming annoying.

I completely reset my versa last night and set it up from scratch. So far
it seems to be working. Last time I set it up I didn't do it when it was
connected to the charger. I doubt that had anything to do with it, but
perhaps try a reset.

I got rid of the bitmoji watch face and it works freak. I had to add in my own approximate steps because I saw thousands fall off during exercise while syncing. Fitbit people questioned me manually adding but never addressed the problem.
