Versa touchscreen not working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have had my Versa for almost a month now and it has started to have a few issues as follows:

  • The screen will not light up on its own anymore when I wave my wrist up to check the time, I have to touch the buttons for it to display.
  • The right side of the touch screen will not allow me to select, I can press the bottom right button to select what is on that side of the screen but cannot select any symbol that may appear on the top right such as the finish flag on a workout.
  • It will no longer display my notifications, the notifications are all set up correctly through the app but for some reason it has now decided to stop working. It was displaying my notifications initially when I set it up.

Thank you

Hi! This is the 2nd year I have my Fitbit Versa.

on the first year, my Fitbit Versa completely died on me. Since I was under warranty, they sent me a new one.

this 2nd year, my Fitbit versa’s touchscreen is unresponsive. I contacted customer service and they told me to do the factory reset, clock change & reset troubleshoot procedure. None worked. They told me since I’m not under warranty anymore, they could not do anything for me. I just have to replace it.

This was disappointing. It made me believe that Fitbit really has an intended expiration date to force you to buy another one.

Anyway, luckily, I remembered that I had the old defective model from the 1st year. I went to an electronic repair shop. They managed to switch the LCD screens. My Fitbit Versa touchscreen is once again responsive.

Fitbit should give us more options since their items are easily broken:

(1) longer warranty

(2) an official service providor

(3) options to buy spare parts

The option to buy another Fitbit bec it’s broken and no longer under warranty will just make you lose customers. I’d be going with Apple Watch if I didn’t get to fix this. There’s a lot of credit card promos out there so the purchase would be in monthly installments and affordable.

Please step up on your service and item quality!

Thank you, I have had my versa for a while and just today my whole touch screen stopped working. This button-only factory reset works. However, I tried setting up the strava app and it does not work.

Today, the screen on my Versa stopped working.  I tried multiple resets with no luck.  I then tried the hard reset using the three buttons.  I cannot complete the setup process, as the screen is unresponsive.  What now?

I contacted customer service.  Since my Versa is 14 months old, out of warranty, I have to buy a new one.

i figured that without screen functionality, it could still track steps and sleep ... and I could review on the phone app.  Except, about 8 hours after problems started, it’s now completely dead.  No screen, no activity from buttons, no connection to phone.  Great reliability and wonderful service Fitbit.

Please add me as well. This happens every time the battery drains and it turns back on. My Versa lite is only 3 months old.

Tried the same thing...it worked for over a period of 6 to 7 hour correctly. Now again same issue.

Where touchscreen is not responsive at all.

As long as you’re still in warranty. 1 month out of warranty and you’re SOL.

I tried this as well, and it did NOT fix the problem.  The touch screen will only work very very randomly

I have the versa2 and the screen doesn’t always work. It’s a hot and miss on when I can scroll/swipe it. I’ve updated all the apps for it and I’ve turned the watch on and off multiple times. This has been going on for a week and a half to two weeks now. And I’ve only had it for a little less than a month. And when this problem started it was to late to return it.

Hi, it's still under Warranty. Contact customer service at Fitbit.com. they will replace it.  I contacted them and after walking me thru some steps to fix it, it was determined that the watch was faulty and they replaced it. I got my new Versa 2 weeks later.

Check if you have Bluetooth turned on on another phone or pad, if so turn the Bluetooth off on them and then try watch.

my tracker won't let me swipe at all. I've reset it probably 6 times in the last 10 mins trying to get it to change. it'll open an exercise and start timing, but won't close out until I reset the tracker again .so I cannot swipe to do a factory reset.

this is BRAND NEW. the woman at Target SKIPPED my option to get a warranty so I'm screwed. I've had this less than 3 months .... I'm PISSED

I did the factory reset on my versa(it took several attempts ro get the reset going) and it took a long time with a fast connection to dinish the reset. My results seemed to be good for thw first1.5 days and it started acting up again. I cannot return it to the store as they have a 30 day exchange policy and I am on 2.5 months. I need to turn off the wifi on my phone and turn it back on then sync my versa or it will not work. Customer service tried to tell me it is my phone. Funny how it was perfect for 2.5 months and I have not switched phones.

There is a one year warranty from Fitbit. Contact customer service and they should replace it.

Sometimes you need to move up a few levels, ask for the supervisor or manager of customer service.
