Does anyone else have a problem with Versa calculating distance - some days I have 2 to 3 km over my distance and today I am showing 2 km under the distance actually done. I am not using GPS just steps times my stride length.

My fitbit Versa was a replacement for a Charge 2 that broke within the guarantee period and so I upgraded to a versa. I really liked it but the mileage was always a rubbish figure, every time it synced it added on about half a mile! Fitbit said they would replace it but the backlog wait was so long, literally weeks (because I think they’ve had so many problems with the Versa) that I finally contacted fitbit and swapped it back to a charge 2. One day when they get the Versa software sorted it will be a great product but looking at the message board not much has changed so I’m saving up for an Apple Watch.

Well hopefully I’ll get my new one in the 7-10 days they’ve promised. I’ve heard negative things about Apple Watch aswell, it seems to be garmin that are highly recommended

I’m so disappointed with the versa. So have they sent you a replacement and that’s the same?

So you recommend using that strava app? My distance has been so off and now I’m wondering for how long it’s been off. I spent good money on my versa 2 and I’m not super happy with the inaccuracy of the distance. Mine is almost off by a whole mile.

I have just purchased the Versa 2 'cause my Versa heart tracker stopped working and it was out of warranty - 2nd chances and all that.
When i run/walk/hike/ride I also run Strava at the same time as my Versa (now V2). I then update the distance in Fitbit app. I couldn't get a proper solution to the problem and this was the easiest way to keep an accurate record of distance. And yep i agree I shouldn't have to do this, but until there's a better solution, it works for me.

Hi, I’ve given up with Fitbit and got a Garmin watch. I can’t afford for the distance to be between 1-1.6 miles out each time I run as I’m training for a marathon and that 1.6 miles is a lot! It also means the Fitbit has my pace wrong. I’ve put in a complaint to Fitbit but there answer was ‘ because it’s connected GPS it will never be 100% accurate’ I think we can’t agree 1.6 miles out is to much. I was so disappointed with Fitbit, after all
yhe trouble shooting they sent me the Versa 2 but it was still the same, I even completely erased my iPhone and set up new because they said it could of been that which it wasn’t. I stated using the ‘ under armour app’ which was accurate. The fact that I paid £250
for a Fitbit and they’ve basically’ it’s tough, that’s the way it is’ is absolutely disgusting and I would never buy from
fitbit again, I do my best to let everyone know about my experience so they don’t get ripped off but Fitbit

So I did something kind of on accident and I don’t know if it is accurate or not, or if it will stick or not but...I got into my Fitbit app and I changed my stride setting. It was on automatic. I just put it on something and tried it. Then I switched it back to auto then it started to match what the tredmill said. So far it’s worked on the last 3 runs I’ve gone on. Try doing that and see what happens. Hope it helps.

I tried that previously and it worked on some runs but my big runs it was so out. I now have a garmin, do t use the Fitbit. Would not recommend Fitbit for runners as there’s no built in gps

Hi I have a VersaLite and I've noticed that over the last week, despite going on the same walk at the same pace on the same exact trail, my steps are way off. One day I'm clocking nearly 3500 while the next its 2478 and this morning I even had 1529. Given the distance I'm going, the time it takes me to get there and my gait and or height I should easily be tracking 3200'sh steps but the numbers keep changing. I noticed you previously guided people to reset their Fitbit watches by pressing on the back and left hand selection buttons simultaneously. However my watch does not have a button in the back, I only have the 1 button on the side. How do I reset mine or is there a different solution for the Versal Lite?
