Good morning,
I'm really excited to see the launch of the new Fitbit Versa!
I intend to buy when when they are launched and have been reading up on both the Versa and Versa SE.
However, after reading information about both I'm a bit confused.
1. Is the NFC reader for fitpay only available on the Versa SE? Do I have to buy the special edition to use Fitbit pay?
"What is Fitbit Versa?
Fitbit Versa is an all-day companion that lasts 4+ days and uses personalized insights, music, and more to help you reach your goals.
Fitbit Versa - special edition has a built-in NFC chip that lets you store and use credit cards right from your watch for wallet-free payments."
2. Are the main difference between the two versions the strap and the NFC reader?
thanks

In the Americas you need to get the special edition if you want the NFC chip and the ability to use fitbit pay.
Elsewhere in the world all editions have the chip. See footnote 14 in the press release at https://investor.fitbit.com/press/press-releases/press-release-details/2018/Fitbit-Introduces-Fitbit...
I think that's the only difference with the special edition.

Best AnswerThe straps for the special edition are also not available for purchase, they only come with the special edition. They are nylon, it looks like the special editions come with a large/small sport band and a large/small special edition band. It says that if you go to the product page and look at the specs
Yup. I’m getting the special edition for the sole purpose of getting the two straps ( the purple woven and a bonus classic black ) I’ve read that the purple woven will not be sold as a accessory.
im not gonna pay for anything with my wrist. Lol.
I've been using google pay on my phone more and more, i currently have a pebble 2 smart watch which lacks NFC so it can't do payments, but it really is convenient with my phone, using my fitbit would be even easier so I hope they work with USAA to add support cuz I defiantly would use it
@Matt_Pebble_2 If you haven't already you should go like this thread for USAA https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/USAA-pay/idi-p/2311409
Thanks Cantryboy, I already did!
Can you reply to texts with the regular one?

Best AnswerHow do you get it so you can respond to messages? I just got mine today and I haven’t figured that out.
Best AnswerThanks! That’s extremely helpful. But I have an iPhone and it doesn’t give those options 😕
Best Answermy guess is that's not a fitbit made band...
Best Answerno it’s not but to be honest the only difference between the bands that u get from Fitbit and the ones you order online are for 1.huge price difference
2. The tiny Fitbit symbol is
missing on the ones you order
Online
for me I’ll order online and get 15 colored bands for $ 40 and be ok without the little Fitbit symbol .
you can’t even tell the difference as it’s the same material and everything
