Water Logging syncs incorrect amount to app (RESOLVED)

After installing the latest firmware update, whenever I log 8 oz. on my watch, it syncs to my mobile device as 0.27 oz.  Moreover, when I log 4 oz. and 12 oz., it syncs as 0.14 oz. and 0.41 oz., respectively.  There's definitely a bug in there!

Please also add reminder notifications for water intake throughout the day that you can configure (e.g., remind once every x hours to consume x amount of water.  Thank you!

I have a Versa 2 and I am having the same problem.

I have "Ounces" and "pounds" selected as my default units.  And both my Versa AND the mobil app come up asking me for input in pounds (for weight) and ounces (for fluid intake).

When I log items into my Versa - the appear to be converted from ml to ounces when the data is uploaded to the Mobile App even though the Versa says I am entering ounces

Same thing happens with my weight - the weight comes over to the mobile app incorrect even though my Versa says I am entering pounds.

When data goes the other way - from the mobile app to my Versa - it stays consistent in ounces.

This is clearly a programming issue that only impacts data migration in one direction.

I don't know how FitBit can say they are not going to have a fix out on this rather quickly.  They are basically saying just don't use your FitBit because FitBit doesn't know how to accurately store data on that device.  Really odd.

Rather disappointed in their response on this one.

I am new to FitBit - does it usually take them a month to solve this basic level of an issue? Not handling units consistently is a rather fundamental programming issue.

This problem has been here for years, by the looks of it.

That speaks volumes in how much effort is actually being put in.

So disappointing.  If I would have known this I would have requested an Apple watch for Christmas instead of a Fitbit!

Hi, same problem. I'm just trying to subscribe to thread so I can see when this is fixed. I just got my Fitbit Versa 2 a few days ago. When I logged water in my Fitbit today as 24 oz, my phone app showed the log as 0.81 oz. I deleted and reentered the entry through my phone app. It took about 5 minutes for my watch to update.

Don’t hold your breath on when it will get done… People have complained about that for a long time with no resolution.

I am having the exact same issue.  If I put 10oz in on my watch, it eventually shows up on my watch and app as .3!  So, I just added 10 oz on my app and it shows up as 10oz, until I go into detail and it says I've logged 0 oz toward my goal.  So when I tapped on that section for detail, it showed 10oz logged under my history.  I deleted that log history and started over.  Added 10oz on my app and it is showing properly in all sections of the app.  I then synced to my watch to see if that would change anything...my watch was previously showing 11oz, And my watch still says 11oz logged.  A few minutes later it changed to 10oz.  So for now, I will not use the watch to log any water until this bug is fixed.  I had no issues with my Alta that I used for years, but I've had the new Versa 2 for one week and had all kinds of issues.

Thank you for the update. I am having the same issue logging water intake.

Hi, has this water logging issue been repaired yet? New to my Fitbit Versa 2 and am having the same issues as reported in this thread.
When will the update be released?

This bug has not yet been fixed. C'mon, Fitbit! I can see this sticking for a few days until it can be fixed, but still?  I am a pretty understanding person, but there is no way the Versa 2 should have been released with not being able to track water from the tracker. It would have been better to leave the feature off, and release it with an update. Telling people to log in the app is not a solution. I've been a Fitbit wearer since 2014, and this is my 3rd tracker. Forking out $200 is a lot of money for me, and this is not acceptable.

Absolutely 100% agree. It’s unacceptable to forget the customers when trying to make a buck. Had I known, I would have probably gone with Apple Watch

It's supposed to be convenient to log water directly on my Versa 2. If your solution is for me to go to my phone app to correct it/ update it.. then this is no longer convenient. Please take this concern more seriously as it is very aggravating & now disappointing that Fitbit is not taking action to resolve this obvious "bug"

Please note this is also happening with entering body weight as well as logging water consumption. I put in 149# on my Watch and it switches to 328lbs.... Thus assuming I was inputting kg. The issue therefore is an overall problem with the device knowing if you're using metric or imperial, and making a conversion it shouldn't.

Just correcting/logging on app is an unacceptable solution!! Please fix ASAP. I use this every day!!

Fyi to people who just got a Versa 2 in the last month, these features WERE working correctly before the last update in Dec 2019.

Also, don't mark this as answered/fixed. It is not.

That's what I understand.  That's why I'm so upset about this.  Whatever firmware update they needed to push out was not tested properly.

Not answered.  Not fixed.  No replies from anyone who can effectively address this.

I emailed customer support with this message.  I encourage everyone to do the same.  It takes a bit but you can get to the point where the website will allow you to send an email.

"Received Versa 2 as a Christmas gift. Since day one, logging data on phone such as weight and water intake, amounts transferred to the app are incorrect. Community help search found that many users have same problem. Date problem started appears to be mid December after a firmware update (that I needed to do when I first started using my device). Takes a long time to sync, sleep data takes a long time to update (won't display on phone til sync occurs), agenda doesn't update during syncs every time (says I haven't synced in a couple of days despite the app saying I synced within an hour or two of the time i check it). Not the experience I would expect or will tolerate from a $200 device.”
