fitbit reset and data lost

yesterday I noticed that I wasn't receiving notifications on my Versa.  I went to open the app on my Samsung and it had logged me out.  I could not log in as it would not accept my password.  When I prompted the app to send me an email to reset my password, I never received an e-mail (I double and triple checked the address the email entered and it was indeed my email address).  I then uninstalled and reinstalled the app.  When I reinstalled it, it had completely reset.  I lost all my data, all my contacts etc. etc.  I have searched other forums and read that users sometimes enter incorrect email addresses (typo etc.).  I have opened the app and reviewed the email address several times.  It is not incorrect. Can someone please help me recover all of my data?

Let me help you with your missing data and thank you for verifying the email address you used. At this point it would be better if you let our Support team know so they can further investigate this issue. I noticed that you already have a ticket with them so please keep working with the team to find a solution.
