I wrote my own clockface for Versa3 and I now have a Versa4 since my 3 crapped out. I need to be able to use this clock face on my Versa4.

That’s it. I’ve had enough patience waiting for 3rd Party apps (especially Spotify) to be available on my Versa 4. Almost a year with Versa 4 (longer with previous Alta and Charge 3), now it’s time to say goodbye to Fitbit forever. I’m moving to Garmin with better 3rd party app support.

Should be able to download apps on versa 4 and 3rd party apps.
The old versa's can supported it but now I can't download anything on it only the default apps. Also, it would be the best, if I can download apps on my watch from play store.

There are no additional apps that I have seen that support the Versa 4 but are supported by all other Versa's 2, & 3 are supported for many apps but none for the 4. I thought I was upgrading but feels like a way downgrade!!!

I just got the new Versa 4 and WTF, there is no Spotify control? Why are we being like Apple users and taking steps back??? I am returning this watch first thing in the morning... my workouts and runs are useless if I'm fumbling around on my phone to change songs... you really dropped the ball on this one Fitbit

I agree, I never wanted to leave the Fitbit environment but that environment is gone with google so there’s nothing holding me back.

Had the versa 2 and it was way better then my sense 2... omg! 😞 I wish my old smart watch didn't die and I got this dumb watch

I've had the versa 4 for ten months and am still so frustrated by the lack of third party apps. It's hard to understand how earlier models in the same product line have heaps better functionality.

Google bought them and they have their own line of smartwatches

This is almost the only reason I buy fitbit, developing a smart watch app with only js and svg. I have just purchased a Sense 2 and now I found out Sense 2 cannot install 3rd party apps. In fact, until i try to connect my watch to dev bridge.

The point is, there's no documentation on whether you can create app for certain device, and cautions in documentations state Sense 2 and Versa 4 is currently not available for 3rd party development. Besides, users are able to turn dev options on for Sense 2 (not sure about Versa 4). If those 2 models are not in the list, you should at least make users unable to turn the dev options on or document it, even it is temporarily.

+1 The main reason I'd like to buy Fitbit is an ability to develop a custom app using JS and HTML only. Versa 4 without 3rd party apps isn't option for me more.

This post is over a year old and still no resolution or answer of when 3rd party apps are coming, why is this? Everyone is saying the same thing and you have 2000+ people wanting the feature they expected to come when the first turned on there watches, but still no answers

Yes it really sucks that Google with all of it's apps for phones did noy allow them for the Versa 4.  My older Versa had 3rd party apps installed that I used all of the time and would love to have on my Versa 4.

Lucky me for finding this post. Was just about to order a fitbit sense 2 but need to look for some other brand, this is a dealbreaker because it doesn't support 3rd party apps.

Google is going to kill a good company by taking away the 3rd party apps on
the Versa

Nothing happening, they are killing off the brand.

Yes I think Google is trying to kill Fitbit. They have ruined the smart
watch for Fitbit by taking away the 3rd party app that have been a part of
a Fitbit smart watch since the launch of the Ionic almost 10 years a go

So I was told today by support that it is in work. We shall see…

I’m changing brands the minute I ca. justify it. Keep your eyes out for a good deal on a slightly used Sense 2, coming on the market soon

I hope so. Because I have had a Fitbit since all it was was a clip on
pedometer and have stuck thru all the new changes and problems even
weathered all the Ionic problems and stuck with then. And now Google
screwed it up and took away the 3rd party apps I gained soooo long a go
with the gen 1 Ionic
