Able to manually log mindfulness sessions in Mindfulness tile

To be able to manually log mindfullness sessions, just like you can manually log a walk, or other exercises. I like the ‘time’ and ‘reflection’ aspects of it and how it appears in the ‘my journey’ section. If I was able to manually log it, I could listen to other apps, or no apps at all, but still log it in the mindfullness section.

Hi @Ancientnav, thanks for taking the time to share this suggestion about having a meditation timer on the Fitbit app to track and sync your mindfulness sessions with us. I noticed a similar idea was already requested in the Feature Suggestion board, so I’ve moved your post here. Please support this idea by adding your vote, this helps our developers to keep tracking its popularity and demand over time.

Dumbfounding that SO MANY users have asked for this very simple feature and it has not yet been integrated.

You previously released the ability to log meditating as an exercise but what I think we would all like is the ability to add it to the mindfulness tracker manually.

Really hope y’all listen to your users on this one. It seems so simple and is obviously very much desired. Thank you!

Agree! And it would be great if there were a Start and End Session button on my Fitbit for mindfulness/meditation. I would be curious to track over a 5- or 10- or 15-minute meditation what happened to my heart rate.

I’ve been using a free app called Mindful with my Sense. It’s not perfect but it does the job. I’m not sure if it works with any other model but it’s worth a try. I still want to be able to log manually but I doubt it will ever happen.

This suggestion is two years old, has 200 endorsement comments and almost 500 likes.. is anyone on the Fitbit engineering team even aware there is an idea bank!?

If so, what is the threshold for time/user requests before a feature is added? New user here but this seems kind of lame that you haven’t moved on this feedback yet.

Add meditation as an exercise type that can be started, stopped, and tracked as a weekly goal. Ditch the dependency to listen to your hokey guided thing to log time. I’ll share a secret with you- meditation is meant to be done in silence 😉

Yes.  It’s insane that there is no ‘+’ button for mindfulness.  For the love of God… I can add my water, I can even add my own sleep. Why can’t I add my own meditation?   It is for this reason I REFUSE to subscribe to premium.  I first came here to make that comment two years ago! I get an email every time someone agrees.  Today I got three emails in one day. It’s ridiculous. I will be going to the Apple Watch.

Ha!

My best guess is that some product manager on the team pitched the meditation logging as a draw for premium subscriptions, with the value to the paying customer being the videos they produce.

Using meditation as a draw for residuals from premium subscriptions. I mean, I get it, but it’s a poor strategy if true (Fitbit product managers, please refer to 200+ comments here for evidence)…

Yes please!! Also a connection between the relax app and mindfullness.

I meditate on my own and have done for years. Yet I can only log out of I use one of your mediations rather than the work I do myself. It would be so easy to add a + button and let us do it ourselves

Hi @SunsetRunner, thanks for sharing this suggestion about logging your own meditation sessions in the Mindfulness tile with us. Because this idea was already requested in the Feature Suggestions board, I’ve moved your post here. This will help us to make sure the suggestions don't get confused, or split a popular vote. Being able to manually add meditations would be great. I was surprised that this wasn’t already an option! Sometimes I do different meditations that I would want to track, but I even did one of the FitBit meditations the other day and accidentally exited before I logged the mindfulness session, so it didn’t record anywhere in the app that I did it.

When will they listen to the 2+ years of requests for this feature? *knock, knock, knock* Hello Fitbit, do you care about your customers?!

I agree, logging mindfulness manually is important for those of us who meditate without the fitbit videos!

Allow users to manually log mindfulness sessions. Currently you have to be a premium user to get more than 2 sessions. And even with premium going thru guided sessions over and over gets boring and doesn’t allow me to grow in my journey. There’s no reason not to allow self logging except greed or misunderstanding mindfulness. Get with the times

I'd like to be able to manually record hot tub sessions, which could be counted as mindfullness time, as I'm sure they help with sleep - but it would be nice to have some data to confirm it.

If I could edit my previous post I would, but meant to add that I'm not concerned with wearing my fitbit in the hot tub, only recording the fact that I've had a session in the app somewhere so that it can be correlated against the other data (like sleep profile).

Need the ability to manually log mindfulness / mediation session outside of "excercise/activity" area.

Allow people to manually add mindful minutes to track meditation done outside of your app.

I agree. You should be able to enter Mindfulness time manually as we all have other resources we use for this self care section.

I recently joined Fitbit, and like others here, I have been doing unguided meditations before joining Fitbit.  Looking at this, I see that it has been asked about for over two years. It would be nice to have the additional feature to add that time in manually.  I hope it's not another few years before they get it in.

Please add this option, I am using different apps to do the meditation, and because the integration between Fitbit to other meditation apps is problematic, the least you can do is open the option for manual log

I’m new to Fitbit, and honestly not being able to log mindfulness sessions is one of the most disappointing aspects of Fitbit
