Add Custom Groups to Mobile App

Use iPhone instead of only computer to pull up a Group I created.  Looking forward to the day you can do that. Thank you. Keep up the Great work! Fitbit is the Best!

Hi all,

as I heard it several times, that Fitbit has a huge social factor .. compared with competitors:

• Please Support Fitbit Groups via Mobile Apps. (www.fitbit.com/groups)

Currently these groups have some issues for for displaying. ..also with a computer. But hopefully this will be fixed.

in best cases, if you want to show that the social factor of Fitbit is not unimportant, implement support for more than the 5 basic and official Fitbit community groups within the App -> real User (created) groups.

Thanks

Jonny

I think this really needs to be added.  It seems strange to not have this feature when it is such a part of creating a social aspect to friends and social circles becoming addicted to your product.  It seems that everything is fone via mobile phones today and no one wants to have to go to a clunky browser to see the group data.  It should all be in an app

One last thought.   I would be more gung ho on trying to get my friends and fellow workout buddies to buy your product if this feature available.  I probably could convince at l at  5 of my workout buddies to purchase it (only one of 6 has one) if I knew this were a feature.  Just think, for the 500 people on here, if they get 3 more friends to buy, that’s 1500 more sales.

It seems a complete no brainer to have activity groups added to IOS and Android Apps. After all who logs into laptops to view web activity etc nowadays. The platform of choice for most is now a mobile device of some sorts!

Just another vote for adding custom groups to the app.

My wife (iphone user) does not even know that there ARE groups.  I talk about them sometimes and she asks once in a while what I'm talking about.  She doesn't use the web site - everything has to be an app.

I was on my second fitbit before the app worked with my android phone.  I used the web page on my HTC phone and it was not a great user experience, but it worked.  The app is better, but it's like the app developers have never looked at the website.  And the app does different stuff on iphone versus android ... like they work for different companies!

That said - it's still more of a community than I've found on any other fitness device.  Even when you need to use the web browser.

BY THE WAY.  You people complaining (some even WHINING) that they can't access the custom groups on their phones ... VISIT THE WEB PAGE ON YOUR PHONE!  DUH!  Set up a shortcut or a favorite!

Would be amazing to have this feature especially as there are so many major sports not covered. Snowboarding as an example only has a small following because no one can find the groups and they'e not app-cesible.

@amylynn117 @JessiLink @BrainWaveCC I've moved your suggestion to this board in order to keep the Community more organized.

@amylynn117 Regarding your request to add the capability to post images for those in private groups, please be so kind to create a new suggestion.

Thanks for helping us to improve the Fitbit experience.

I’ve noticed that it has been several years since this feature has been requested by Fitbit users and we’re now in 2018 and still nothing has been done about it by Fitbit. So much for being more social than the competitors. I think I might have to look into switching to the Apple Watch. Features are constantly being updated there at least!

In addition to the customized group not being visible through the phone app, even on the desktop app, it doesn't look like pictures can be posted. I was really hoping to create a local community experience for my mom who just got a fitbit. She lives by the Sangre de Christo mountain range. It would be great if people in the community could post pictures of local hiking trails, with the picturesque mountains in the background. It's been years since this function was first requested, I don't see any feedback from the fitbit moderators.

Please update this soon to create a more community feel for your app.

I do see that this is under consideration now and the post from the moderate about how that doesn't necessarily mean a solution is coming forthwith.

I'll try to encourage more people to vote on this problem.

It would be awesome if you could add the community groups to the app. It would make things so much easier to access and more streamlined.  Hope you are able to get this in the works very soon!

Hi! Id love to be able to see custom groups on the app. I would like to be able to share within my friend group and be able to access our group on the app!

When Groups come to the phone app, please also enable them for Challenges such as the Work Week Challenge.  And be sure to allow larger numbers of users in the Group Challenges.

Make private groups visible on the app and make it possible to do challenges within the groups

If you do allow groups in the mobile app make them easy to search. The website doesn't have a search feature. You have to pick a letter and scroll down again & again and on and on...

there should be a better Group forum on the app. You can create your own group online, but only a select few groups are available on the app. Also, an additional feature would be for an easier way to add people to groups. The current setting is by email only.

Please allow us to view our customized groups through the app. That way we can see our private groups under “community” and “my groups.”

Would also be great for android app

Seriously not sure why this feature was overlooked. Who has time to log into a computer?

As a user, I expect to see any group I joined listed first and foremost in the group tab.

As a user, If a group I am in can not be listed under the groups tab, some explanation should be presented so I don't spend a bunch of time looking for what is obviously desired but not there.

As a user who likes to choose his own friends, I have little or no interest in the existing pre-configured groups.

I think the app is overall great, but this feature should be a no-brainer.
