Add body measurement feature

Can you please add a feature to track your body measurements: chest, waist, hips, thigh, and arm? I would like see my progress in inches +/-. When I'm not losing weight, I want to make sure the body inches are still going down. Thanks.

Along with weight, it is important for many people to track their gain/loss/maintenance in body measurements (ie waist, hips, biceps, calves, neck, shoulder-to-shoulder,  thighs etc).

Waist circumference is a better metric for tracking health than weight or BMI as these can be affected by skeletal muscle mass. It is easier to track than %body fat (how do you even estimate this?). There is also a lot of medical evidence around this as a simple measure, and many General Physicians (doctors) know what it means with regard to general health. The large Fitbit community would only add to this creating more medical evidence.

It is also a harder metric to achieve than BMI.

Central obesity (waist size) has good correlation with visceral fat (the fat surrounding body organs such as heart and kidneys) and cardiovascular health. The goal is easy to understand for everyone with no tricky calculation;

any measurement over 80cm for women, and 94 cm for men is associated with increased cardiovascular risk (heart attacks and strokes).

I personally track this every time I weigh myself.

It would be nice to track measurements along with weight loss as sometimes you lose inches instead of lbs.

I'm a big fan of the fitbit app but there is one feature that I'm missing. I log my weight but I would also be able to log my measurements (waist or chest for example). Logging measurements would show progress maybe even more than logging weight.

I support adding a waist measurement as having frequent access to reliable body fat% measurements is highly uncommon and unaffordable (ie bodpod, I’m highly skeptical of scales that claim this ability). Waist measurement is easy, free, and a great compliment to body weight for monitoring fat loss.

This is an excellent idea and the best suggestion for a feature I've seen yet- it would be So much easier to not get discouraged when the scale numbers aren't going down if you could keep track of waist {and other} body measurements on the app rather than trying to figure it out separately {it gets confusing}. I think it would make a huge and exponentially helpful difference to how our fitness/weight/BMI is tracked, and honestly it would be a lot more accurate. Thank you for considering, I hope this is a feature that gets released soon, I know it would be super helpful for me, and I'm sure a lot of other people could benefit from this as well!

I agree, I would also like to have again the possibility to log my measurements for waist and hips. It's a better way to track weigh loss when fat is replaced by muscles (and one has only a normal scale that doesn't measure fat percentage in the body)

It would be great to add Muscle Mass Percentage and Body Mass Index too (MMP, BMI)

This functionality is vital for those of who are working towards fit goals. I'm working off baby weight and adding muscle, so tracking inches is vital.

I'd like to be able to log and track my body measurements (circumference of waist, thighs, biceps, chest, butt, calves, forearms, etc.) in the fitbit app, and take and log progress photos.

I recently bought versa2 as first fitness tracker, I am shocked there is not any body measurement tracking and that it used to exist but was removed a few years ago? Please add this back. Thanks
