I second, third and 99th all the above comments about creating functionality so users - who buy your products - can access more than one device under one user name. Please work on a fix for this.
I was just about to buy a Surge since I got a hefty giftcard for Best Buy but decided to search how two fitbits would work together (I have a One at the moment.) I'm so glad I did because I'm going to go ahead and wait till I can use both of them without any hassles. Fitbit, get on this ASAP.
I was wondering if there were any plans to allow fitbit users to have more than one device linked to their account? I have a Surge and love using it for workouts, but it is simply not appropriate for wear to my office.
It would be great if I could wear my One at work and my Surge the rest of the time, and have the results integrated into the dashboard-are t
Wouldn't it be great for fitbit too? People would be keen on buying more than one device, which means more sales for your company!
The second I am able to swap between my One and a Surge on the same account I will buy a Surge for the GPS and HR features. Please hurry with this feature! I love tracking my route while trail running, but I'm already doing that on a separate app from my Fitbit page and I don't want to trade my everyday tiny in-pocket One for a bulky watch 24/7.
Addendum: HOORAY! Love my Surge. Love my One. They swap easily. Thank you fitbit!
I have the Charge HR. I love it and love fitbit but would love to be able to use another smaller device without having to used two sperate accounts. I would like to use the Flex and Charge HR on one account. I go to a lot of functions where the Charge HR doesn't go with my outfit or look good with a cocktail dress so I would like to use the Flex on those days with the Tory Burch bracelet. Please help me out!
I think this is a wonderful idea. I use two fitbits, my Charge HR and fitbit one. I play alot of basketball and the charge HR is a huge liability because of the physicality involved during basketball. Not only can it get damaged but it could potentially cut someones head or other extremities of the body. The fitbit one has no issues and works fine during these situations. This could be a problem for other sports that involves hands too.

I have a One and I like that I can clip it discreetly to my pocket while at work. I work in a corporate environment so a wristband tracker is not really appropriate.
However I would like to buy a Surge or a Charge for the gym.
I would have thought that this would be a priority for Fitbit - don't they want their customers to buy more than one?
As it is, there is no incentive to buy a wristband device from Fitbit, when there are a lot of similar products from other companies. I want to give you money Fitbit, but you are making it very difficult !!
There seems to be a LOT of demand for this feature, so why is it taking so long to implement?
Having been using a One for 2 years I ordered a Charge HR which I thought would give me the best of both worlds. The Charge was delivered last week and only during the set-up process did I discover that only 1 tracker can be used at a time. Perhaps I was a bit naieve but I assumed something that fundamental was possible. I would even suggest that not highlighting this fact in the product details is tantamount to mis-selling.
I did find a comment from Fitbit to one of the huge number of complainants that this ability would be available "soon"
I asked support directly exactly what "soon" means. The reply I received from product support said (verbatim) "
we don't even know when our higher team will be released a new option to have a multiple trackers linked to one one account but that's one of the features they have been working on" I read this as "soon" doesn't actually mean soon so we shouldn't hold our breath
As long as you have your phone, you can easily interchange your multiple devices in less than a minute. I have the new surge which I love, but realized that it was just too bulky for my indoor soccer game, so I "added a new device" from my account, my fitbit one, it picked up my steps, miles, calories, etc from the day using my Surge. When I was done, I got back on my phone and "added the new device," my fitbit Surge, again, picked up where I left off and it all happened in under a minute. I can't imagine it taking much longer than that if you are near your computer as well. You won't lose any data from the day if that's what some people are worried about.
I've tried this and it /usually/ works. But it's also dropped thousands of steps on me a few times when I switched. I don't mind losing a few early in the morning but I don't like tempting fate once I've gotten going for the day.
I would think this would be pretty high on the developer list - I assumed it would be figured out when multiple "high-end" devices were proposed and then released. For a product line that's billed for constant tracking incluing sleep and promoting three lines - everyday, active, and performance you would think the ability to switch would be built-in and seamless.
I have been seriously eyeing the Surge for a number of reasons (mostly to simplify devices - watch, GPS, etc. all built in) but the ability to switch to a simple Flex for certain activities is obvious. Why wear the Surge to track sleep and who wants to do yard work/heavy work wearing a $250 device?
Thank you for the reply. I agree, should be one simple step. I believe I will return the product and wait until they figure this out for ease of changing devices.
I am so dissapointed I can link both my flex and surge. I bought the surge specifically for working out and love to wear my flex in my Tory Burch Bracelet for work. I can't wear the sports watch with business clothes = super wrong 😞
