Under Consideration = wait 7 years and get ZERO feedback on suggestion progress, just posts in your inbox from other frustrated customers.
I'm convinced the moment I finally unsubscribe from this, Fitbit will fix this or I will jump ship and not care anymore. One thing is for sure, this is a masterclass on how NOT to handle customer feedback. Anyone who tries to justify the lack of implementation by arguing complexity or lack of demand just needs to look at pretty much every other brand on the market and tell me why they are able to offer it. Not a good sign that a company focused on giving its customers metrics cant update its platform to improve the collection of data ... 7 years lol, I'm sure they could have rewritten everything multiple times over by now. Perhaps an explanation on why its taken so long from Fitbit would alleviate the frustration .... but no ... nothing, wait don't tell me, their backend system does not allow for them to give honest feedback or perhaps the demand for a reply is not high enough ... ahh yes, must be that
Yeah this is really mind-boggling that this still isn't supported. I have been making-do with un-pairing and re-pairing but it's a real headache and just discourages me from bothering, so I'm not getting my money's worth out of having two trackers.
My plan was to wear my Versa Lite most of the time but switch over to my Inspire HR when I'm working on my truck or doing something else that might lead to damage, since it's cheaper and I don't really care much if it gets scratched up. But half the time I end up just not wearing a tracker at all when I'm doing that kind of work since I don't want to waste the time doing the switch...I just want to grab the darn thing and go.
I know it's a 'first world problem,' but it's really, really, really disappointing that this has just sat here for 6+ years when it's such an obvious thing to support and all of the major competitors can handle multiple devices just fine. When my Versa Lite needs replacing, I'm unlikely to stay with Fitbit. Even if they finally got this implemented, the six-year blow-off has soured me on the brand already. The damage is done.
@achmafooma I was in the exact same boat as you - I picked up a used Alta HR from Craig's lists for 50 bucks, and it's now my yard work tracker...and I can have it on the account with my Versa, no unpair/repair dance when I switch.
415 comments since I first contributed my frustration in late August of 2019. We've switched away from Fitbit because of this. Garmin has worked FAR better for us. I would suggest, given that no one who cares about customers at FitBit is watching this thread, it might be more productive for everyone to Tweet them. If you have a twitter account, I've found companies often pay more attention to tweets that are very public than their own forums which they find easy to ignore. #MoreThan1FitBit
The issue is fitbits implementation of their "app gallery". They never designed their app gallery to work with multiple devices, since it's via the fitbit app itself and wasn't built in a way to have multiple different "app gallery" versions and apps together in the same fitbit mobile app.
Hopefully they change this design to support multiple devices as their help article above makes a strong case in their own words for people using multiple devices.
@bobby2478I've heard that before. All that says is the management/programmers weren't very insightful and ignored a rather significant feature that literally all other app stores have (Apple, Android, Microsoft). If they failed to design it from the start and fixing it would require such a massive re-write of the store, then they should STOP MISLEADING CUSTOMERS by claiming it's under consideration - even if it is, it clearly not something that will be fixed in anyone's idea of a reasonable amount of time. FitBit should be communicating that to customers and not leaving it to speculation. It's disrespectful.
it should be possible to have two or more of the same fitbit items on the same account. i got 3 fitbit surges and have to use 3 different accounts. one for each. no total results availlable, no easy changing for charge one and go to the gym or what ever.
Hi @Toyoco, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to sync multiple devices on the same account (Ionic, Versa, Inspire/Inspire HR & Charge 3/4 and more). I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". I hope to see you around.
Who do I need to convince? It is insane you don’t support it. I bought a sense watch because this was supported for previous watches. Now I have to choose between sense and charge 4.
I have two devices. When I switch between them I have to start each from scratch. Why isn't there a feature to remember devices. Move minutes are off also. On one I will have 2 of 10 and the other I'll have 8 of 10 with no overlap
Hi @EricScott-jpn, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to set multiple devices on the same account. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". I hope to see you around.
I think you should think this one through. I believe that people would be more apt to but a second device and use them the way I do. I am not the only one who like this. Garmin already does this and I am reconsidering going to a Garmin. Christmas is coming and this may determine what is on my Christmas list.
@EricScott-jpn This is very frustrating, mostly because they previously supported this. I used to have a surge and a fitbit alta. Stopped using fitbit for a while and when I came back bought a fitbit charge 4 and then a fitbit sense to then realize it was not supported. My bad for not reading the small lines.
But, there is another alternative, you can use a Garmin device and sync it through an app like healthsync to Fitbit. I already do that, I use fitbit as a fitness device and garmin as a sport watch. The cons is that the syncing is not perfect because fitbit apis seems to only support to add excercises as type, time it took and distance. But it is an alternative to just switch fully to garmin where you will most probably experience other problems 😄 (I don't like the app).
I have now given up on Fitbit and spent the annual subscription on a Garmin device...... It is atrocious that Fitbit won't make the changes requested by so many for so long.
I wonder how many like me are leaving Fitbit solely due their attitude towards customers needs.
I've been a Fitbit user for many years, and always have had two devices on my account so that I can charge one while using the other. At a minimum there should be an allowance for multiple devices per user. Even Microsoft allows this on Office (you can install it on up to 5 devices you own), which costs a lot more than a Fitbit.
As a loyal fitibit customer who has owned many devices over the years, and still has a versa, one and inspire, I'm really surprised they took away the ability to have multiple devices on an account. What's hilarious is that I can't delete my Aria scale that hasn't worked in years.....
I have an Apple watch, but don't like the platform on steps and exercise and how hard it is to connect with My Fitness Pal and others. I've been wearing my One while I wear it, and my Versa to work out, but I guess I'm just going to have embrace Apple. My One stopped syncing on October 20, even though it is working perfectly fine, and will not resync. Even when I took it off and tried to reconnect..... it can't find it. I cannot help but think that Google must be tanking this brand while trying to create something that will compete with Apple... first suggestion... don't fix what isn't broken.
What’s hard about connecting the AW with MyFitnessPal? Install the apps, allow access, and you are good to go. Ditched Fitbit because of their crappy software that has more bugs and limitations than features. Seriously, I as a software engineer am ashamed by such bad software. And really I have not seen much worse in years. Their data model must be so broken beyond repair that they cannot have more than one watch connected at the same time. I really want to meet that guy or girl who came up with this idea that one device is enough and ask some serious questions ... or just laugh at them. They must have been under the influence of substances ... Seriously. Even from a business standpoint this is the worst decision.
Extremely disappointed I can't have a Charge 3 and 4 on my account at the same time. I prefer to wear my older one to bed and on weekends, rather than my "good one". Also, when the battery is getting low, I can just switch them out and carry on while charging. I have run two Fitbits for years. I have a Charge 2 which I can leave on my account, but would prefer to use the more up to date 3, due to it having the oxygen sensor, being waterproof, and generally being in better shape. Furthermore, I shouldn't need to have to explain why I'd rather use the 3/4 combo! I have had every Charge, and this is the first hiccup. Not impressed. I'm a faithful consumer, routinely upgrading, and this seems like a giant slap in the face. Had I known, I wouldn't have bothered, especially considering there is nothing wrong with my Charge 3, and I upgraded out of sheer frivolity, as a reward for being an essential healthcare worker during this COVID nightmare. It shouldn't basically have made my Charge 3 obsolete.
I own a Fitbit Inspire HR. I just spent $1,300 HKD to upgrade from Charge 2 to Charge 4, and was SHOCKED to realise that only one device can be synced to the account. I have to manually remove the device each time to upload my data, and found sometimes the data is lost in the process! Why would anybody then want to own the later versions of Charge?
I too have just bought a Versa 3 and already use a Charge 3. I’m very disappointed that I cannot use them both and interface with the app, having previously interfaced a Charge 2 and Charge 3 simultaneously and assumed I would be able to do the same. I now have a perfectly good but redundant Charge 3. This has been an issue for sometime but there seems to be little information about it and no commitment to resolve.
It's hard to believe that this thread has been going on since 2013, and since then more than 1500 users have posted comments requesting this change. Every few weeks a Fitbit moderator posts what appears to be a scripted response that goes something like this most recent one:
Hi @Toyoco, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to sync multiple devices on the same account (Ionic, Versa, Inspire/Inspire HR & Charge 3/4 and more). I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". I hope to see you around.
...and then it goes into a black hole, never to be heard from again.
I can only assume that Fitbit is not really considering making this change for reasons Fitbit is reluctant to clarify on this thread - so instead they post things like this that give us false hope.
Just once I'd love to hear a moderator get real with us and say something like: "While many of our users have requested the ability to have multiple trackers on a single account, our present business model depends on only allowing only one tracker per account at a time. While we understand many users would like to see this change, it is not something we will consider implementing now or in the foreseeable future."
C'mon Fitbit - give us a little respect here please!
Yes I think you are correct. I feel there is no concern for this issue. It's bad because I believe they would sell more devices at Christmas. I don't think I would have bought my Ionic if I knew about the device limitation. I think this is the end of the line for fitbit and me at least if they don't resolve this soon. I'm thinking Christmas and a Garmin or two.
