Allow us to move or delete Cardio Load prompt

There is a new Activity called Cardio Load on my home page and I cannot move or delete it. I don't care about it. I want to see my Steps on the top of the list and now I can't see them because of this new Activity and the size of my iPhone mini. This is ridiculous.

Well I don't know if this is the end of the cardio load issue, but normally when I excercise it shows my cardio load on the stats.Today nothing (see photos ) Fingers crossed 🤞

My cardio load is still showing on exercises. It's also showing under activity, and prompting me to set a goal for it. No, I don't want to set a goal...it's already an inaccurate stat for people that fall outside the "norm". Heart issues (even if they're benign) can severely alter this...I am constantly at risk of overdoing it, according to this.

I've started deleting the cardio load data every few days to avoid the message. It's annoying but not as annoying as the awful message.

It is awful to see this when you are recovering from surgery and are following medical advice that your usual activities could prejudice healing. So upsetting

I am a 10 year Fitbit user— and am shopping new devices bc of this feature and the inability to turn it off.  I’ve had it… it is beyond absurd that we cannot turn off this warning/notification.

@LizzyFitbit update please, you said in March it's under consideration, so what's happening? The fact that there are so many people expressing upset/frustration after a year and nothing has been done is unacceptable. This feature is demoralising and you have a duty of care to make sure customers' mental health isn't negatively affected by your devices. There is more than enough evidence in this thread that shows it is causing widespread dismay.

PLEASE prioritise this.  It's a blatantly ableist feature.  I don't need a reminder of my disability and chronic illess every morning when I open the app.

And hire more disabled people on your team.  They could have helped you avoid this mistake at design time, rather than forcing hundreds of your users to come her begging.

"Hopefully they will lose the shaming message." Nope. Even in the weekly one, if you don't get 20% or more each day, you get the shaming message....but if it calculates a really low score for you and you hit that score quickly (mine is 75, really really low, and I hit that Tuesday morning), then you spend the rest of the week telling you that you're overreaching/overtraining and at risk for injury.

I find this bit to be hilarious....

"If you head off on holiday for a week or two and stop exercising, you’ll see your target start
to come down, but only slowly at first because your fitness isn’t lost overnight! And if you’re
an overachiever, consistently beating your weekly target, you’ll see it rise to keep you
challenged."

Mine went from 270 to 75....because I was 20 points short last week. 🤔

i asked Gemini AI why the Fitbit cardio load is illogical and unreliable and got a detailed response. Basically the TRIMP algorithm doesn't work well for people like me who concentrate on strength and resistance training at the gym. This is true as I can do a 90 minute weight session and  earn a handful of "points". Another time I can do what feels like the same session and earn far more points. Sometimes I can earn more CL doing the supermarket shop than 90 minutes of heavy lifting.

Google's own Gemini AI recommends ignoring CL in favour of Active Zone Minutes.

The summary section of the Gemini response is below. It's a shame Google Fitbit developers don't consult Google AI!

Summary

The feature is currently biased heavily toward endurance runners/cyclists and struggles to quantify the fitness generated by the gym/mixed-fitness lifestyle you lead in Cambridge.

My recommendation:

Ignore the "Cardio Target" dial entirely. For gym work, Active Zone Minutes remains a more reliable metric because it simply counts "time spent doing work" rather than trying to calculate a complex (and often flawed) physiological load score.

Not been to the gym for a week as I've had a few days in Berlin and now Fitbit wants me to take it easy! Ok. I did quite a bit of walking in Berlin but rarely raised my heart rate so I was expecting a you've been slacking message.

Even with the Cardio Load tile removed, incessant 'tips' on meeting this goal appear on the home page. Seconds after closing one, another one appears. It seems to be impossible to remove it altogether.

I've finally sacked it off. Feels like Fitbit is being run into the ground by Google so I asked for a new wearable for Christmas and am now rocking that.

Unbelievable that they've still not listed to the community on this one and by the time they do it's too late now imo. I won't be back. It's a shame, but between this, the alarm issue and my auto tracking on multiple exercises being broken after only 8 months, Fitbit just isn't up to standard now compared to others wearables. The cheap price point used to make them accessible. Now it just makes them cheap in every sense of the word.

Please allow us to disable this unwanted ‘feature’.  Some of the recommendations to either increase or decrease cardio load are in conflict with my Dr’s instructions and, if followed could be dangerous to my health.

Please save us the annoyance of repeatedly Xing out, and yourself the risk of legal action if some is injured due to following your advice. This should be an easy fix.

Good point! Injuries due to following advice and severely overtraining.

I think everyone is aware that this is not a technical issue; forcing this "feature" on Fitbit customers is a management decision. This gives the decision makers the feeling they have authority over customers, like a "coach". My insurance provides a small discount for my allowing my exercise data to be tracked. I requested my insurer provide options other than Fitbit for tracking and they have done so. Unfortunately, by changing trackers I will lose access to 11 years worth of Fitbit data, but not having the stream of conflicting messages appear will be worth it.

The message "Risk of undertraining" is toxic. No one is at risk, at that kind of language misses other body rhythms and just alarmist. There must be better wording other than using the word "risk."

Agree… in fact you should remove this recommendation entirely.  Some of us have health conditions that make the recommendations re: cardio load and training dangerous.    Don’t assume we are using Fitbit to ‘train’ and if you don’t remove this messaging altogether, at least let us opt out of receiving it.   Constantly ‘x’ing  out is annoying and, if some users blindly follow your recommendations, it could have serious consequences.

I was so happy that this annoying 'feature' seemed to have vanished over the new year period, 'Finally' I thought 'they've listened to us and done something about it!'. But no, the rage inducing messages started popping up again a couple of days ago. And I lost my best boi last week, so no, I'm not walking very much at the moment. I do not need my fitness app to rub my face in it :angry face:

This issue was logged over a year ago and was set to under consideration last march. Since then there has been no update.

I'm fed up having to delete cardio load data every few days in order to stop that blasted pop-up

Please can we have an update?
