Blood pressure Fitbit device with historical tracking

It would be great if Fitbit either created a blood pressure monitor and a glucose monitor that would sync with the dashboard or if they would team up with another company (Omron, diabetic community app) to have their product sync with the dashboard instead of having to manually enter it.

Add blood pressure monitoring on the Fitbi, please.

They are unlikely to do that more's the pity. They have just removed the mechanism that I was using to plot my blood pressure. I desperately want it back

Please bring it back

That's unfortunate it was on the news last week that the pulse rate and blood pressure monitor on a young athlete's Apple Watch saved his life.

Great idea! This would make such a big difference - I've looked for sugar trackers and there's just nothing that good out there. With fitbit's powerful scan feature it'd make sugar tracking incredibly easy - and since all that data is there anyway, it seems a massive oversight to not use it.

It would be great to be able to track blood pressure on the phone app. You may even be able to make and sell a BP cuff with same synchronization capabilities as your scale

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) over 29 million Americans have diatetes.  http://www.cdc.gov/Features/DiabetesFactSheet/.  Another 86 million adults have prediabetes, where their blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not high enough to be classified as type 2 diabetes. Without weight loss and moderate physical activity, 15 percent to 30 percent of people with prediabetes will develop type 2 diabetes within five years.

With just two new features, Fitbit could help these millions of Americans, like myself, gain control over our diabetetes.  First, we need an option to set goals and track carb intake.  Calaries do not matter to us; carbs do.  I would like to able to set my max carb intake per day, and then have an option on the app to track carb intake, rather than calaries.  Second, Fitbit should add a feature to help monitor glucose levels.  Fit bit could partner with a glucose meter company to allow us to set and track blood sugar.  The OneTouch VerioSync meter, for example, syncs a meter to an application that tracks and graphs your glucose levels (http://www.onetouch.com/veriosync).  If the FitBit app could also sync with the VerioSync meter, we would only need the Fitbit app to track everything a diabetic needs -- blood surgar, carbs, weight, workouts (and Fitbit could capture the market for those 29 million Diabetic Americans.

Thank you.

FitBit used to allow the entry of blood gluclose readings - they were taken off in August of 2015. Why? It was extremely useful for those of us who test our blood glucose daily. I you Fitbit to add this again right away.

Very interesting and important request @manhattann, I will forward it to our developers so they can take it into consideration and hopefully add it in the future.

Any other ideas you might have, feel free to share or vote for them, if it’s already suggested in the Feature Request Forum. Thanks!

@SunsetRunner Hey! That's a good idea. Hope this can be feature soon.

I have read through past posts, but feel this is important enough to warrant another post.    For those of us who take our glucose levels daily, it is a very important part of our fitness regimen.   Whether diabetic or pre-diabetic, this number lets us know whether we are on track with our diet and exercise.   I have been putting mine in the notes with my foods, but a way to enter this information so that it can be seen all at once would be EXTREMELY helpful.   A graph of it would be even more helpful.

I feel this could be an optional window for the dashboard so that only those of us who need it would need to view it.   I was surprised to see that you once had this option and removed it!    This was before I became a FitBit customer.    I am very disappointed that you would consider this unimportant enough to remove!    For many, their very life depeds on that number and fluctuations in it are crucial information.

So, please, reconsider glucose monitoring.   Thank you for your time.   Deb Crump

I agree, fitbit is doing great things for my activity levels, however a way for the fitbit to measure my blood sugar levels would be awesome! imagining a way to check sugar levels without a needle!  way awesome!

an added goal for carb intake would make things a lot easier in the short term.  The information for carbs is already in the nutrional section, making them a part of the dashboard with a goal.....

Thank you for all the wonderful work you are doing!

@smiles0523 I really like this idea because sugar is something you track daily. Hope this feature can be available in the near future.

Thanks for participating in the Feature Request board.

I too would like this feature as it is quite inconvenient to refer to multiple sources to track how we are doing with res[ect to our Diabetes.

A way to import our BG readings as well would be awesome!!!!

I just returned to FitBit.com after a long hiatus (I got a Surge, and decided to start using my One tracker again for sleep tracking). I even signed up for FitBit Premium so that I could export *my* data. Imagine my disappointment when I discover that blood glucose and A1C data that I had been entering for years is no longer visible. It also does not appear to be available via the Premium export feature. How do I get my data back? Is it lost forever, or just not currently being displayed in the new, improved dashboard?

Was any explanation given for why the display of this data was removed (hopefully it was only the display, not the data)? Was there some FDA complaint to which FitBit was forced to respond (like the 23andMe no longer being able to show health results, and now only genetic data)?

Inquiring minds would love to know.

I would like to be able to track my sugar intake when I log in my daily food, as I am diabetic. There are other fitness apps (my fitness pal) that give you several more choices that you can add or drop and customize your dashboard.

I agree with RealTime3392. Like them I have started to use Fitbit again and need BP and Glucose so that I can track them. I am not happy about using lots of different "partners" and want this stuff in one place.

Can anyone recommend a replacement to Fitbit that will allow me  to log different health areas?

I recently posted on Twitter about how cool it would be if Fitbit could somehow make a tracker where your blood pressure can also be monitored. I know that the upper arm is where you should place the bp cuff for a more accurate reading, however, if there was a way to be able to sense the vibrations of blood using some kind of fitting device on the arm or somewhere else that would correctly measure it, then by all means make the device.

Another reason of doing the Fitbit blood pressure device, that can also have a huge impact on Fitbit as a company, is for people who need those reading for hospital and clinical reasons. I believe that Fitbit's technology could become a bridge to medical devices used in out patient monitoring and in patient as well. I also have reason that I need to check my bp readings daily and from my prospective the Fitbit Charge HR is a awesome start, however, to make it a device that could monitor even my bp while on the go, would be ground breaking. If you do make the Fitbit bp device like a " Fitbit Health bp" or something please let me know.

Can we have a blood sugar entry form and tracking chart added to dashboard. It would be beneficial to diabetics to chart this along with activity, food logging, weight, and rest. Then be able to graph out results

I totally agree. Why this wouldn't be a 'given' on a health application, I don't know.
