Bring Back the Old Dashboard!

I'm starting a new thread to bring back the old dashboard since the previous one was closed to comments and is no longer being considered by the developers.

I can't express how much I loathe the new "look."  It's cluttered, difficult to navigate, and it enrages me anew each time I go to check if I've got my dot for the hour.  Please give us the option of using the "classic" view.  Failing that, give us the option to remove or edit what we're tracking.  I'm in menopause, but it won't let me remove the Female Health.  I don't track how much water I drink, or what I eat, but those are permanently visible (I could edit them out of the old dashboard).

Please return to something clean and functional.  If not, I'm sure I can find another tracker that will suit.  I've been with Fitbit for over five years but updates like this do not inspire brand loyalty.

I think this new look with the Discover link is essential a platform to launch Fitbit’s new focus on Premium. A subscription service that is designed as a revenue generator. Don’t get me wrong I fully support Fitbit being a profitable company. I think those service offerings are great. What I do not support however is how Fitbit seems to dismissing their existing loyal customer base in favour of the new offerings. I guess I don’t fit in to their target demographic. Note this is my opinion only. Thank you.

Hi @AmiableAmyLee, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback about this idea, as you've mentioned, this feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here as it is not currently planned. This helps maintain the Community and the Feature Suggestion board more organized.

New dashboard is unusable, your customers hate it. I don't want one new feature, I want the old (or something similar) dashboard back I can keep using my device instead of having to ditch it for a whole new product that actually works.

This new layout is awful. The only thing I like is the % battery left. Keep that and change the rest back. It is clumsy, ineffective and so very poorly thought out. Does the person who pushed for this even wear a Fitbit? I have a hard time believing anyone actually likes how this is laid out. Terrible. I hate that this was forced on me.

Please go back to the old dashboard screen, this new one takes a long time load

Please bring back the dashboard screen, on the old one there was a choice to have 3 things, I had the steps on top and underneath I had the weight on the left and the sleeping on the right even if you put that choice back would be good

The new dashboard is completely unmotivating and horrible. Boring. Boring. Boring. Can’t see battery level unless I pull it down, syncs slower, colors are horrible, stats are so small that I have to use my reading glasses to see them, difficult to see progress on hourly steps, goals reached are met with a boring little flash, and all of this leaves me with no incentive to open the app. Not to mention, sleep tracking has been way off since the update. I’m seeing thousands of complaints on both the forum and Apple reviews.  Do something about this, or else I’ll be spending my $$ with your competitors.

The smaller font size is reducing accessibility. I find it difficult to read. Has this been considered by the designers? Or is it deliberate exclusion in order to push people into buying a subscription?

I said you should make the choice of having 2 on the bottom, and 1 on top
like the old one, of course much better if you do bring back the old one

Please please please bring back the old app UI. This new UI is terrible. Clunky, scrolling waste of white space, graphics are flat and ugly. I used to enjoy checking the app through out the day to check progress and log water etc. It provided a nice clean snapshot, especially the old sleep tracking icon. Now I feel completely repelled by it and dont enjoy using it at all.

Besides the UI to other things I have found completely sloppy as far as a release:

- Bugs and really basic ones, the tiles loaded when the upgrade was pushed, the sleep tracking info one, still had 'lorem ipsum' placeholder text instead of the actual content. Some of the tracking data loaded as ?? of 6 days etc...

- Fitbit pushed out the new UI, rather than allowing the user to opt in. I do not have my phone set up to automatically update my apps so completely overriding user preferences I find pretty disrespectful.

If this is foundational to start pushing paid content and subscription services, huge miss. If there isnt an option to roll back, I look at the other fitness tracker options, move on to Apple watch or go old school dump trackers all together. Too bad, I actually really liked the charge 3... but without a usable UI there really is no point in keeping it.

Does that mean you might be bringing back the old screen

Logged on to see if anyone else has been experiencing glitches since the surprise update, found this forum, and wow!! I agree with all here who are unhappy with the new interface. Fitbit, why did you "fix" something that wasn't broken? As a matter of fact, it appears that your "fix" is what is doing the breaking. The tracking function for steps per hour is unreliable and inaccurate. I don't even know what else may/may not be working correctly because this new dashboard is now user-unfriendly. Please offer an option to revert to the original dashboard!!

I am hoping that there will be a change to the new app's hourly activity tracker...whether it is a dot or a dash, a feature needs to be added so that a quick glance allows us to know if we have met the hour's activity goal - on the old app the current hour dot  was larger and then filled....any improvement would be great - the current display requires too much time and effort! I tried to express this through live chat and was told that to have my voice heard this needed to be submitted on the community board.  I feel strongly enough about this that I have followed through - please listen to my request and improve the circle of dashes or give us the dots back!

The reason I purchased Fitbit over other fitness trackers was the highly rated app. I checked it out and it was very easy to read during a high speed bike runs. The new app is not easy to read, in fact, it is too small to safely read. Fix it or I will be forced to go to another tracker. Oh, and no, I cannot take my hands off the handle bars to look at my watch! Jeez!

They likely won't change it. If they were interested in users' requests,
they wouldn't delete/move suggestions they deemed "duplicates" to hide
them. They would instead note that multiple people were requesting the same
thing and do something about it. Everything about how they went about this
terrible business, from design to implementation. It's likely to open the
door to push paid products. That or someone making high-level decisions has
truly lost their mind.

I agree. I will give them a week to fix it. It is so easy, just isolate that particular tile and allow enlargement. If they fail to fix I will start telling ALL my exercise friends, (I have about 10) about the bad app and recommend they move to another tracker. If each person does the same they will either fix it or go out of business. PS I also have a lot of friends in Europe.

Yes. Everyone should also take the time to leave a quick very low (&
accurate!) rating on Google play so that folks who may be seeking out a
tracker for the first time or considering jumping ship from elsewhere know
to avoid at all costs.

I was surprised by the "upgrade" this morning. I was getting ready to replace my Blaze but after seeing the new dashboard I may leave fitbit altogether. The new format is boring and not motivating.

I don't really have a problem with the way the app looks. My app doesn't work. It won't sync and I have tried everything they say to do and more and it still doesn't work. I have been with fitbit for years and never ever had a problem before this last update with the app. It just doesn't Work!

I agree, I've tried to be open minded about the new app but I'm not liking it.  When I'm working out I used to be able to tell at glance if I was in cardio or fat burning mode by the little heart icon but now I have to scroll further down to read which mode I'm in.  I also don't like the layout, the old tiles were nice and easy to view everything at a glance.

I also miss the old moon - I liked the smiley face that I'd see if I had 8 hours of sleep.  This new app seems like a step back in terms of graphics...odd.

If they won't allow us to use the old app please add back in the old feature where the heart had the little markings around it when in Cardio mode so it is easily viewable at a glance.
