I am on day 997 of getting 10,000 or more steps a day in a row. I was looking forward to seeing 1,000 on a few days. I can’t believe you took that feature away.
Totally agree, relied on weekly accumulation of miles and steps as part of my fitness goals, poor decision by Fitbit to remove (which also deleted the intensity graphs a year or so ago.). Feels like FB doesn’t care about customer
congrats on your step streak! I do not like new app at all....first they take away challenges and now my step streak.... I almost changed to apple when they got rid of challenges, but I think this just sent me to the dark side to get an apple watch, lol
It really raises the question "why are they spending money to create unwanted app upgrades (not) that nobody asked for or wants?" Just bad business. I guess they hope it will drive you to the pay-for app as opposed to driving you to competition.
Extremely disappointed that the new app eliminated the daily step streak and the battery charge indicator. If the daily step streak doesn’t return, I’ll find another tracker, as it was the most motivating feature of my Fitbit. Don’t love the new look either, but can live with it if the streak tracking returns.
I have a sneaking suspicion that this new app includes changes to the data collection practices (but who has time and energy to research that? I don’t.) and that this has been in the works since the day Google took over Fitbit. Google has changed from “Don’t be evil” to “Get people’s data by whatever means necessary so we can sell more ads”. It’s possible that UX missteps like eliminating step streaks and other favorite features are simple incompetence in market research, but I think it’s more likely their primary focus is getting people to share more about themselves (the “focus on you”) for betting data harvesting, and keeping users happy is just a secondary consideration and not that important once you get past the initial sale. A cynical view would say that the UI/UX shakeup is an intentional distraction from changes to the EULA and Privacy Policies.
Anyway, Fitbit, are you listening? Please don’t be evil — restore our step streaks!
I just wanted to send feedback on the latest changes to the interface. I had targeted myself to achieve 10k steps for 100 consecutive days. I was getting constant daily achievement of the milestone and achieved it. I then said let’s go for 200. However in the latest update that had disappeared. I used it as a motivation. Loved the Way To Go message
My Fitbit app updated automatically, not by my choice. I lost my step streak and the new app is very unappealing. Please restore the step streak feature and the layout of the app as it was before. I used the step streak every day and do not understand why they would remove something that is a motivator to many.
App re-design was beyond unnecessary, is visually quite difficult to use and we're now missing features such as ongoing cumulative weekly steps tally? This number used to be easy-to-find, and was boldly displayed - but now we gotta dig around to find it buried in a tiny sentence, what?
I have had a Fitbit since the first one was released. The steak feature was a real motivator to get me walking everyday. I stuck with Fitbit because of that feature …without I may check out the Apple Watch…
I agree with everyone. I can’t say I like the new updated look and I too want the streak feature back. I am nowhere near the amazing streaks that I have seen from some on here but it was still an important motivator for me. Bring back the old look. A new update doesn’t always mean better it just means new.
Losing the step streak was a major hit for me as well. It was a fun motivator and I was coming up in one year of moving. I’m so disappointed and it looks like I am not alone.
Yes! I want a daily celebration when I got my goal with the page flashing a color AND motivation to keep going with the streak number! The whole point of these devices is motivation!!
Is there somewhere we can go to pled with Fitbit to not only bring it back but restore our streaks. I had 1300+ days over 10k and it was a huge motivator for me. I would like to know why the change but more importantly I truly want it back!!
