I am on day 997 of getting 10,000 or more steps a day in a row. I was looking forward to seeing 1,000 on a few days. I can’t believe you took that feature away.
I updated the app, went through the whole process, and my step streak displays as 16 days instead of 605!! The live chat agent said something about 'if you sync your phone and device, the phone keeps a different count so it can't restore the data', which was totally incomprehensible, and makes no sense since I sync my phone every day and the correct data is stored in FitBit. I complained so much over live chat they opened a case record over email, which resulted in the usual 'restart your phone, uninstall and reinstall the app', blah blah blah, none of which helped. My guess is something about the 'do you want to sync your phone?' push prompt screwed up the step count data, and FitBit is scrambling to figure it out. Let's keep pushing!!
My step streak shows up - but from 55 days ago when they changed. It should say 1015 days. I keep reaching out to see why the streak total is wrong and if it will be corrected. No response. No surprise.
I updated the FitBit app on my iPhone to version 4.04. I had to do this on my own which begs the question why this didn’t update automatically like the previous update done in the dark of the night that took away basic features.
Anyway, to see the step streak, one must tap on the shoe icon to get to a Steps screen. It may or may not show, depending upon when viewed. It appears one must meet the goal for the day before the step streak shows. As of this update, I did *not* see the step streak, but have seen it recently - later in the day after I met my daily goal.

I just posted elsewhere, but will repeat: it appears you must first meet your daily goal before the step streak shows. Try waiting until later in the day before checking the step streak.

Thank you! I will try that tonight. I am about 500 steps away for today. I have kept my step streak on my personal calendar and kept to it. Even when it meant doing 5000 steps after dinner. I have been Told that I will really like the Apple Watch.
Kathi you have an apple watch now don't you? I had to return my inspire 3 after a weeks try and after my charge 4, looking back, didn't adapt well to the software demotion. So I'm exercising off the grid with my timex Ironman and enjoying it.
I checked last night after meeting my step goal, but the streak was still not showing. I contacted Fitbit support, who told me the step streak isn’t coming, but I could post on the forum and let them know we want it back. Since I’d just received an email from Fitbit saying the step streak has been restored and should be available, I was embarrassed for the poor tech since they apparently didn’t think he should be aware of this development. I also took the opportunity to voice these concerns in the survey they offered: “Glad you brought back the battery percentage and step streak, and that the celebration for attaining goals is coming. Perhaps surveying your customers on what they like and don’t like about the app before making sweeping changes would be a good plan. This major overhaul to the app was not well received and has caused many to consider switching to other trackers. We need to have confidence that Fitbit knows, and, more importantly, cares about what we want and need from your products and services. Trust is hard to regain once broken.” I hope they’re listening.
These concerns are valid for most of us. I felt totally betrayed by their weak replacement. As a company that thrives on data as Google does, I couldn’t believe the thought we would really wash less. Such a bad decision on their part.
We’re you able to find your step streak? It had disappeared for a bit after I upgraded but saw it was back this morning.
My husband also wears a Fitbit (on on arm - the other arm = the fruit product). He's had a few days in a row with 10,000+ steps and he's not seeing a step streak. I am seeing a step streak at 108 days. I have no idea how this step streak works. Is it after 5 days? 7 days?
Try all the tricks. Reset his Fitbit. Delet and reinstall the app, and make your phone is at the current OS release. This is what I do when I’m having problems.
For me this is still not working. My daily goal is 11,500 and I have over 14,000 steps in for the day. Clicking on the shoe icon takes me to the step screen but it only tells me the number of steps that I have exceded my goal. Clicking on the weekly and monthly tabs show me the total steps but again does not show the days in my step streak.
I had the exact same experience, until tonight. Suddenly the step streak was there. And since I have kept my own records and kept the streak going, I was able to ascertain that they had the right number of days. Peculiar. I had been wondering if it was because I did not switch my account to Google. But that was not it. Who knows?
Step streak restored, battery level too. But still clunky, less-useful visual presentation. Just revert altogether to the prettier, compact first page of old.
Thank you. And yes, when I sync’d my Fitbit this morning, my step goal was there, and all days were accounted for. I’m happy they’re fixing the problems they created and hoping they don’t do something like this again. Now we can focus on important stuff!
My watch was down to 10%. Charged it to 99% and pressed the button on charge cable 3 times and now battery level shows on app as well as step streak at only 54 days but at least it's back! Sent from my iPhone
They told me the step streak only starts after hitting 7 days in a row, which I’m well past. This morning after sync’ing, the step streak was there on the steps page. Looks like they’re still working on it and making progress. Keep checking for it.
Well I am very happy for those of you that are seeing the step streak again. I did follow the advice of someone earlier to delete and reinstall the app on my iphone and that was successful for the battery charge. Still not seeing the step streak - I waited like others have said and after a couple of days over 10,000 it finally showed a streak of 8 days. Today I am at 9 days - but with my manual tracking after the 'incident' with the upgraded software I am actually at 1,175 consecutive days over 10,000 steps. I can look in the history on my fitbit app on my PC and the days all show in the history section so there is still a disconnect. I will try to continue to hope based on some of the comments that it took a few days but I am seriously loosing all hope. Does anyone have any new suggestions - except to just give up and go on............ Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Enjoy. And keep stepping
I’m so glad to hear some good news. And thing I try also is to reset the Fitbit along with swapping the app. AND make sure my phone operating system is up to date. Last year I lost my step streak and TOTALLY flipped out. I called support and that’s what they suggested. I was really skeptically, but guess what, it worked. Apple had fixed a Fitbit bug Lolol
I’ve learned my lesson and since the big fail, I keep track manuals too. >From now on
