Bring back the old sleep summary page

When I had my Charge 5 and the first few weeks of having my Charge 6 the app would give me a sleep summary page with, Sleep Stages, Time in each stage, Oxygen levels and Bedtime and wakeup all on a handy page. Since a recent update I now seem to get a much more basic three tiles and I have to open each one and look through for all the information.

Ha! I just had to sign a new terms and conditions to comment to say I won’t sent any unsolicited ideas on improvements. Well ok then, here’s a few:

Lose the horrible new sleep graph and replace with something people can read.

Differentiate the colours more across board. The various shades of mud are hard to see.

Why is the sleep animal now the most important sleep thing on the main summary page? It’s a nonsense gimmick, put it back on the sleep specific page where it belongs (or remove completely. It means nothing).

You think that's weird. Whilst searching for some sleep data I came across
another app to install -I thought it would be like the weather or some of
the other linked apps. But guess what, it was a watch face with a hedgehog
sat on a log to remind me all month that i am a hedgehog sleeper. The only
other information on the screen was the time tucked in the top corner - no
steps, no heart rate etc. So that got despatched quickly and normal
watchface now back on.

Plot and lost quickly springs to mind

You have completely destroyed the last little good thing about your tracker. I'm officially never a "Fitbit" person anymore and am purchasing a new tracker from a different brand. Whoever decided to make this decision to change the sleep tracker should be fired because I feel they purposely have sabotaged your company.

One thing that is even more disappointing to me than the new user interface is the lack of communication from Fitbit.

Whilst the community blog post "Redesigned Sleep experience now in the Fitbit app" clearly asks for feedback with "We’d love to know what you think of the new design. Join in the conversation and let us know!", multiple forum threads with thousands of votes and comments and the company keeps quiet.

As the Community Product Feedback board seems to be meant for member discussions only I recommend to provide feedback in the following ways:

I paid a lot for my Fitbit and cannot replace it. My reading of this debacle is that Google wants us to leave Fitbit so it can be killed off and google absorb the technology into its own watch. There can be no other explanation for the serial downgrades. Google couldn't care less if it loses the disgruntled voter base who have posted here, its a risk it has decided is worth taking. There are no ethics in Big Business and Monopoly capital. Of course we will never trust Google again (not that we ever did, given we all know it steals our data quite happily) and hopefully none of use will ever purchase a Google device. In the meantime, I will continue to use my Fitbit despite the truly pathetic sleep graphs and just hope against hope that may an ethical approach may prevail. Not likely but fingers crossed.

YES! The “updated” sleep program is HORRIBLE! What ever person came up with the a”upgrade” clearly never used it and should be fired. My new Apple Watch will be here this afternoon.

Couple thousand votes, almost as many comments, and more than a month has passed. Well, I don't buy that they are ruining the product, hoping to sell Pixel stuff instead. They simply can't be that dumb. I've been a Fitbit user for well over ten years, and I just ordered an Oura sizing kit. Maybe before I fully move away from Fitbit, they will take some positive action. I hate to say this, but I doubt it.

The Sleep app has been destroyed by Fitbit (Goofle). It is apparent from
the lack of communication to owners that they aren't going to fix the Sleep
app. I TOO have ordered an Oura sizing kit. All evidence suggests the Oura
device is superior to the Fitbit Sleep, AND superior in heart rate, SpO2,
and other health indicators. It does note that the fitness tracking lacks a
little. The Sleep graphs were the last thing holding me to Fitbit so with
the lack of evidence they will fix this, HELLO OURA

There is nothing to tap on...I can view the sleep stages immediately, but
the graph is hard to read and to understand, and not helpful for many, many
of us. There is no benchmark "mark," thus no way to compare your own to
anything, no matter how many times I click on it. And it keeps cutting
chunks out of the middle of my sleep, when I know I was asleep, so it
appears I've barely slept at all, and it doesn't give any data for the two
small separate sections. 3 weeks ago we (and/or Fitbit support) were able
to adjust and fix that. Now we can't, and will never be able to again,
according to Fitbit. The latest rep told me there is no "Fitbit company"
now (don't know what that makes "Fitbit Support") and absolutely no one at
Google to contact re any of this. These forums are the ONLY way, and NO ONE
is listening, as their intention in buying Fitbit was to make it obsolete
by 2025, the point to which they said they would support it.

I just ordered a Spade watch, for activity and sleep tracking. We will see! Too bad-I did love my Fitbits over the years but now it’s just exasperating.

Thank you for the info, but iPhones can't use Playstore. The great
instructions someone posted on how to totally revert to the "good" version
on an Android have worked for some, but I can't find an equivalent for the
iPhone. I think iPhone users are just SOL.

Me too...I never intended my original post to result in this onslaught of
email that all seems to be addressed to me! NOW, how do I fix THAT?!?!?
🤣🤣 I feel like folks think I either caused this or can do something about
it, but no amount of talking to Fitbit indicates there will ever be a fix.
I guess this is what Google meant when they said they would continue to
"support" Fitbits until 2025...planned obsolescence for all things Fitbit.
Hail the rise of Google devices and apps! Don't know why I didn't "get" it
when Google said that!

When Goofle bought Fitbit, I was told they would no longer innovate but
just run it into the ground thinking that would sweep these users to buy
Google devices and that they really just wanted our data. Naively I
dismissed this as sounding too stupid for such a great company. It’s
clearer now. The one safe alternative now seems Apple , and maybe Oura
or Garmin unless they buy these two as well.

I had to put the Fitbit Community in junk mail to open up my mail. Hate to say I will be going to an Apple Watch.

Signed feed up with Fitbit/Google.

Oh my. I missed Google saying they would 'support' Fitbit until 2025. If I can confirm that (I'll Bing it), the decision becomes trivial. And I'll make sure to request that 100% of my Fitbit data be deleted once I close out. Wow. What a shame. I've always been a Microsoft fan too (I worked there for 8 years), yet they are apparently doing the same kind of thing with .net Maui. Sorry, completely different topic, other than having come to a simple realization: these companies don't care what individuals think (especially once they have our money). Other businesses can sometimes bully them into more 'sensible' decisions, but not individuals.

100% agree with these comments about the sleep app. I have given it a few weeks, but it’s honestly so hard to read a doesn’t seem to record continuously with a graph like the old blue lines used or. I can see 4 hours of sleep from a 7 hours sleep session as I woke up in the middle and must not have hit enough hours on the season side for it to keep recording my sleep.

i also really liked being able to hold down a section of the graph and seeing I was in a deep sleep for 40 minutes, light sleep for 1 hour 20 etc.

I’ve never been more disappointed with an app improvement after a few weeks than this.  I’ve been a Fitbit user for a number of years and really like the heart rate tracker and steps tracker, but this sleep adjustment is such a downgrade

Nothing more to add. I agree with everyone who DOES NOT LIKE the recent sleep stages page update.

  • I update fitbit app to 4.16 verson. The sleep duration  didn't  fixed the issue.  It is still hard and read what my sleep is.

I think this is a place to vent frustration, but I doubt anyone is listening or working to change it back. 🤷

I used to check the sleep part of my Fitbit app daily and enjoyed the ritual. With the new update, I find it difficult to find the same data and am no longer enjoying it. It’s too bad given I imagine a lot of work went into the redesign but ultimately it feels like a big step back.
