Challenges not Based on Steps, eg. Sports, Stairs, Active Mins

It would be nice to have different types of challenges that aren't solely based on getting our steps in. 

For instance, the number of active minutes in a day, loss challenge, calories, water consumption. Some activities don't count steps such as cycling, skiing or skateboard.  I would like to be able to compete against my friends while doing other activities.

It's great to have the step/distance challenges on Fitbit, and my family and friends use them often.  It would be great to see weight loss challenges on there as well, for anyone who is interested, for a week long or even a month long challenge, whoever loses the most % of weight or even who loses the most pounds (although by pounds may not be as fair as by %).

I love entering in the step challenge every week with my friends BUT some of  us also do a lot of other activities that don't count steps (biking, swimming, weight training)

It would be great if a challenge was created that totaled daily calories burned as a way to keep motivated!

I read somewhere that in addition to pure steps, doing active walks where one's heart rate is slightly elevated is important - now that a number of FitBit devices measure HR, wondering if there would be way to incorporate active walking rather than just steps?

Fitbit has some fun challenges but they are geared towards step counts (which I love doing) but now that I bought a bike I can see there isn't any available for cycling.  Can these be added maybe for distance or elevation (most hills biked)?

The competitiveness of the challenges is a great motivator: workweek hustle, weekend warrior, etc. I’ve seen my step count improve dramatically because of the step challenges. It would be awesome to do sleep challenges.

I’d love to add sleep challenges. I never meet my sleep goal. Having the step challenge with my friends has helped me kick my step count up a notch.

Yes, please! This!!! Please add other challenges such as active minutes, distance, etc. More variety, please. Also, people take different lengths steps and can travel the same distance and have a completely different step count.

My current solution is screenshots of my Fitbit app together with Wero App. This way I can create my own custom challenges to get competition and accountability. It's a bit more work but so nice to have the variety. I've also tried doing the same on Instagram but it's less purpose built around challenges.

Hello, I would like more variety in the challenges. I love hiking! Why not a challenge based on floors climbed? It burns way more calories amd works out my muscles harder. I think adding variety like this would make fitbit more competitive against other brands of pedometers. Thanks for the challenges that we do have!

 I have always wanted this! I would call it "custom challenges" where you set the parameters:

- period of time (start day to end day)

- metric to challenge by (steps, stairs, water, number of goals hit, minutes of activity, etc)

- name the challenge whatever you want 

- invite friends

I agree with other challenge options besides steps, but not water consumption.  That can be too easily faked.

Something as simple as a floor climb challenge would be super fun! That feature alone would be a game changer for people who live near mountains/hills.

I have  had the same idea for a while as a cyclist i sometimes struggle to keep up with some of my friends who are runners and such for "steps" so activate minutes would be ideal!
